Sounds like his agent has leaked this to get us to offer him a new contract. Wasn't there news a few months ago that we were going to offer him improved terms. If we were then we'd remove that clause I'd assume.

The parts of the contract they've printed contain nothing about any release clause, that's pure guesswork.
