Surprised at some of the comments in this thread. It would be a tragedy to lose Toby! He's one of the best defenders in the world and a squad without him is massively weakened. We have to do everything we can to keep him. I will be devastated if he leaves.

I suspect everyone would want to keep Toby - including Poch and Levy. But, its not always that simple. If the player wants to go, or wants a wage the club are not prepared to pay, you have to deal with the situation.

Based on Poch's angry response on a Toby question, I can only see the obvious answer to be the bridge is burnt. His clause of 25m kicks in summer of 2019. I hope we can repair the damage & get the deal done. If not, we should not wait.

We have to sell him in summer to outside PL and get someone else. We should never give a chance to another PL club to buy him directly from us.

Ofcourse we will lose one of the best CB. But we got to be pragmatic if he is not going to sign a deal. You want to keep him till 2019 & let him leave to a PL rival or take the financial hit , & sell him less to a non-PL club ?

I think poch wants him to commit before he comes back in. He is a top top cb but why bench a very talented young cb in sanchez when the player coming in is playing for a move.
I really dont think its injury related. I think poch is putting the pressure fully on toby to decide his future.

What happened to Modric then ? Didnt we take a 15m hit & sold him to RM. This has happenned before under Levy. Its not the first time. With Walker he is English , so more difficult. Toby is a foreigner someone who has already played in La Liga

Its a hypothetical question. So, let me answer that with another hypothetical question - What if he is ok to go another foriegn club like RM or Barcelona or Juve or PSG ?

We cannot know whats going on. So asking question based on that doesnt get us anywhere.

Completely correct and to do so he has to show that he is fully committed to the club by signing the contract on offer. Otherwise we will happily atick by sanchez through his development.

And we say that we wont accept a bid from pl. He either accepts it or has to wait for summer 2019 dor that 25m clause to kick in for it to be out of our hands. I doubt ut would come to that. Barca/psg/madrid will be all over him
