Before this season I would have been absolutely gutted to lose Toby as he really has been top class for us.

But Sanchez has done very well and I wouldn't want to stifle him as he is far more long-term.

It's the same as Manchester United during Fergie's rein when they would refresh parts of the team whilst it was still a successful component.

When Fergie sold Jaap Stam and Beckham he really put a blueprint down on the whole no-one is bigger than the club mantra, the players respected the club more knowing that they can't mess about otherwise they'll be out.

Yeah Stam was a bit of a cock-up at time as he didn't replace him properly that season (Blanc oops!) but did then get Ferdinand in following year.

Beckham was a very successful component and people probably thought he was mad. And then he got Ronaldo in...

To be successful we need to evolve and that means tough decisions like letting Toby go and also probably getting a new left-back in unless Rose makes a dramatic improvement from this season.

Given the amount of time he was out, I don't think Rose is doing too badly, either for us or England. Only need to replace him if he wants out and we sell him.

Would be nice to have a decent LWB who can consistently put a good ball in the box... I think Rose has regressed.

It's just really funny how the two players who aren't fully committed to Spurs picked up long term injuries which inevitably took the bargaining power out of their hands.

Seems to me you cross Poch once then there's no way back?

Guess it's hard to tell as we don't know who of the current set up may have had any sort of disputes with Poch at any time to be honest. But it does indeed seem like if you aren't all in for the team then the door is where you'll likely be headed. Rose has or had a really good relationship with Pochettino but I still firmly believe that he'd have seen many more minutes if it weren't for that outburst he had.
