SC is full of funny OK no one is talking football It's 23.00 now in my country (Thailand) time to bed. ( maybe this is not the place for foreigner fan and i always have the very flank opinion and bad english haha sorry about that). Bye

Everyone's welcome here. Your English is fine. Regarding Janssen and being offside too much, he's probably been playing football pretty much every day for the last ten years of his life, so he knows what the offside rule is. He's just playing at a higher level than he has before, where players are stronger and faster than in the Dutch league, so he has less time than he's used to. He needs half a season to get up to speed then he'll be fine.

Why are people saying he will come good? I don't get it. Implies that he isn't doing well, or only showing flashes of promise. That's not what I'm seeing. His hold up play has been very good. Better than Harry's. You will see more chances for the AMs when he plays. His application and determination has been very good. His positioning and runs have also been solid. His touch has been a bit hit and miss, and his shooting needs a bit of luck. It's not like we aren't scoring when he plays, or it negatively impacts the press. He fits in very nicely. I also really appreciate his aggression. If I was to give him a grade it would be a B. So, yeah, I think he's already come good. Just needs a few goals to move from a B to an A.

I dreamt that he was dating my sister (pretty weird, since she's forty), and he had bought us Dutch candy after being away on national team duty. Also, he could speak a bit of danish (dunno why we were speaking danish, I'm not danish.)

So to sum up, he's a good player.

Nice summary, completely echo what you're saying. It should also be noted he is now in a team that is playing at a higher level than he has ever experienced before and at 22 he is leading our line in the toughest league in the world and the Champions League. That's a lot of expectation on him and i believe he has done very well, like you say a B, if he had a couple of goals along the way everyone would be raving about him.

As a second striker i feel he will be perfect for us, one of the hardest things in football is to find players with passion / desire, you see a lot of players smiling when they miss the goal or jogging around. He has a real will to win and succeed, that counts for a lot to me.

Incidentally, his finish on Tues night when he was offside where he dinked it over the keeper was lovely.

I have no issues with the guy, he looks a great buy to me, he's playing well already, there's clearly more to come and the goals will come for him.

Yep, Janssen is the real deal. Just needs to vary his play a bit and be aware when and where to make his runs. All very coachable. Technically, he looks good. Tactically, not quite yet but he's in the right place to learn. Kane's injury was badly timed though.

How about ...
He is taller than Soldado (by 1 cm)
Younger
Cheaper
Better looking
Improved hair line
Stronger in the box
More of a future ahead
:sneaky:
He's a striker - so his goal tally will be the deciding factor in him being top or flop.

We need to convert more of our chances. I so hope Janssen is going to come good. But right now, I really regret missing out on Moussa Dembele in January...

one excellent goal, and one shot hit the post that makes up the third goal. I think he is one of the best players today, alongside Quincy Promes
