I just don't want to sign a player who's under police investigation for anything more serious than a parking ticket, regardless of how well the club is monitoring the situation and what they might think of it.

If he's acquitted or the charges are dropped, go for him. But not before then.
As I say I trust the club to do their due diligence on a matter as important as this and know what is going on with the charges and I would assume the club would not do anything with an unresolved issue but I think it's important to not speculate and let one situation make us assume anything about another. Nobody wants a player at our club who would do such a thing, no one.

I'm not speculating, I'm not assuming Bissouma's guilty of anything.

But as long as there's even the slightest chance he might be found guilty in an ongoing investigation I don't want the club to go near him.

Would be disgusted if we try and sign someone under investigation for sexual assault, especially with the horrific stuff coming out about Mason Greenwood this morning

Yep it definitely puts this one to bed for me now and I really wanted us to sign the player. Probably why we are pushing bentancur instead of him.

To be honest this kind of crazy

Imagine if we even loaned him while he was under investigation and he was actually found guilty?
that would be the absolute worst optics possible.

I understand that we get bantered by other clubs a lot and we are used to it, but Jesus this would be a whole new level.

Relax.
He doesn't play in Italy.
He isn't a Juventus squad player who can't get into the Juve team.
Thererefore we aren't signing loaning him.

I've completely missed this. What is he being accused of?

.
Sexual assault at a night club with a friend in his 40s there was footage of him being walked out in handcuffs, it happened in October I believe

Sexual Assault. Him and another bloke were arrested in a nightclub in October. He’s on bail right now. Not sure about the severity of what he’s been accused of, but either way I think we’d be better off waiting until this is no longer hanging over his head.

So let me get this straight. We could end up signing a player and then he goes to jail for sex assault?

There is no way any deal will be structured where that is a possible outcome for us. Levy has his faults, but when it comes to stuff like this he's typically very good.

Thanks guys. Wow, yes that's a pretty serious accusation. I'm surprised I missed it at the time.

I don’t want to use pending sexual assault investigation/trial as a way to get a cheap deal. Find it grim people are even suggesting tbh.

If he’s found innocent, then happy to talk about signing him. Until then, fuck that

Nope. Don’t care how good he is, until this is sorted steer well clear.

There seems to be a spate of these sorts of allegations against footballers at the moment (and the Greenwood stuff looks/sounds awful).

Aston Villa might go for him after failing to bring in Betancur and especially if Luiz doesn't extend his contract.

Exactly the type of central midfielder we need, in my opinion. A proper box to box, Kanye type is required to aid our transitions, which have been below par/slow for far too long now! Our current options and links to other players don’t really have that skill set, sadly.

With the legal stuff hanging over him at the moment though - steer well clear.

Yeah he'll just get Stronger over time. Although he does have a bit of a "I am a God" vibe. Have to say to him No More Parties in LA and make sure he's not a Gold Digger.

Really like the idea of buying Premier League proven talent from supposed 'lesser' clubs. Bissouma is very good and would improve us massively.

Just seen West Ham are in for Phillips from Leeds, who is similar. Raphinha and Lamptey also in that category. There's a premium to pay but the risk is undoubtedly less than buying from overseas, and for January signings in particular they have a better chance of hitting the ground running. Don't expect us to get any of the above though, for various reasons.
Agreed, we really should be looking to raid the lower teams for their prize jewels.
