I'm not sure other clubs do anything different.

We do normally make a bit more out of not getting numbers, so saying they can change. But I might have missed it as I wasn't interested anyway.

I don’t get the fuss. The club issue the appropriate disclaimers to give fans sufficient warning not to get numbers before they’re confirmed for the upcoming season. If you have some compulsion to buy a shirt in the interim there is nothing to stop you from buying a plain shirt and getting it printed at a later date. None of this is new for this season - it’s been the case for decades now.

Ok, they won’t get done out of any $, only £.

It wasn’t that I couldn’t wait, it was my 7 year old sons birthday. I’ll ask God to make it after pre season starts next time that happens.

I also said I agree with it, just that it’s annoying. So not sure why you feel the need to comment like you did.

I also don’t expect you have “written off” anywhere near the probable tens of thousands of POUNDS on the club that I have over the years. So maybe it doesn’t grind you as much as it does me. And before anyone says I got something back for my money… 90’s…..

And my “classy” comment is only said in respect to what other clubs have done recently in similar situations, the most recent being United with Cavani.
So buy your son a plain kit then. This isn’t the club’s fault. As someone who works for a club and deals with complaints like this all the time, it’s annoying to me as people hope others will rally behind their complaint and drag the club through the mud.

Attacking me for using dollars instead of pounds doesn’t change anything.

Some more juicy squad number updates! ??

Buying player personalised shirt numbers can be tricky, I’d personally wait until they’re confirmed for the season if I actually wanted a player on back (which I don’t since I got Sheringham on yellow kit season before he left for Man U…).

Some players also you know not to risk - e.g. Skipp as mentioned as didn’t think he’d stay at number 29.

Romero was a surprise though as he had 4, but obviously he likes the 17...

Strange he didn’t re-register to it when Sissoko left 21 days after he arrived, as pretty sure players can do up to a certain point? (Although might have caused even more of an uproar as a new signing and loads of fans getting his shirt already).

On link I’ve posted they’ve been pretty clear Perisic and Bissouma may change numbers - presumably waiting for 14 and 8 to become available (not sure why otherwise they don’t move Winks and Rodon to other numbers, if they’re out of favour then may as well).

Rodon could take 24 for example as still has a 4 in it.

Interesting that Perisic and Bissouma are likely to change when the season kicks in. Still think Perisic will be 14 and Bissouma 8.

20 Fraser Forster, FFS, take 13, you're the back up goalkeeper.
Yeah or 31 if he’s superstitious about 13.

At least he didn’t take 22, which Gazzaniga and Gollini wore.

Perisic sporting it at moment as 2+2 = his favourite number 4, but hopefully he’ll get 14 (saying that interesting Skipp got straight in there ahead of him for 4 so he must be expecting 14… Personally prefer Skipp with 4 though as proper position for it)..

I’d like Spence to take 22 if we get him as a good right back number - please dont give him 3 if Reggy leaves as brings back memories of Kelly getting 3 for us and Finnan 3 for Liverpool! ??

Can't decide between, Perisic (means waiting until later in the summer), Kulu, Son, or Richarlison.

Never had so many options before..

It’s clear that Perisic doesn’t want to tread on Andy Sinton’s illustrious toes by wearing 22 in any competitive games.

That’s respect.

Zero sympathy for this tbh.

For kids getting names/numbers on shirts it's a valuable learning exercise - don't do it. Things change quickly in football...

Adult males still doing it have issues. Yep I said it ?‍♂️

I think a good rule once you're over 18, if a player is younger than you, don't get their name on your shirt.

Just a quick question: Is there a way of safely removing either the name or number - which ever is easiest? - to then have the removed name or number re printed correctly? I know the numbers seem to come off over a number of years, just wondered if there was a way to safely speed that up?
Yeah you should be able to remove it fairly easily. I’m sure there are plenty of videos on YouTube, but you basically need to heat the name/number with a hairdryer or iron (hairdryer would probably better to avoid marking the shirt accidentally) and once they’re hot enough you should be able to peel them off. Would recommend using tweezers as the plastic gets pretty hot.

Half the time they come off by themselves after you wash them enough times. I wouldn't waste the money on them.

I'm too obsessed with player numbers and this looks so wrong ?. 4 and 5 are supposed to be central defenders numbers and 6 should be for defensive midfielder.
