There's only few players in Spurs history who have turned down moves to ManuRe and those are Mabbutt and Anderton and what Keano did and signed new contract with Spurs. Ardiles would have got more money from elsewhere, but he stay with us.

But how many players there have been who has turned down moves to a bigger club just cos they wants to play for Tottenham. After Mabbutt and Anderton only players who come up to my mind is Ledley, Teemu and Keano but from those players only one who's Spurs Legend status is Keano which is understanable.

But how many playes you can mention who dedicated his career for Spurs?

Perryman, Blanchower, Anderton, Mabbutt, Ardiles, King(he will be there), Tull, Woodward, Roberts and Jennings (even he playe for Scum) and you can count Klinsi cos he came back and saved us for relegation...

Greaves, Bill Nick, and I wouldn't include Jurgen the German, he should never have left in the first place, Clive Allen

Simon Davies ( i think, he was strongly linked with Man Utd )

from current squad, I think it would be hard to get Gareth Bale, he looks like Spurs fan as Wenger heard and said it in media ( hope it is true ! )

I dont think Anderton dedicated his career to Spurs by any means, just so happens we were the biggest club that came in for him at the time and through out his career for us no one bigger managed to do a deal with the club to give him the chance to leave (this was reported interest from Man U on one or two occassions, but for one reason or another it never came off...one of those reasons not being Anderton's dedication to Spurs im sure)

Did Teemu turn down a bigger club? I know he didn't join Utd, but wasn't that becasue he had to joing the army of something like that? I think the press got a bit confused and have suggested he turnded down a move to Utd when leaving Auxerre, but I don't think that was the case. Having said that, he is without doubt a Spurs fan, who is one of the very few players who would turn down the chance of a move to bigger club (though he's not likley to get an offer.)

Am I reading this correctly that of the players highlighted only Keane is a Spurs legend? If this is so ....words fail me. Keane being given legend status over Mabbutt and King? You are certainly taking the piss!

I'd give legend status to Ginola and Freund cos neither would've left if they had the choice and both were good in their positions.

And both still love us. Heard both recently saying how much they loved Spurs.

Well he turned out move to United and other several offers to join us. Which was cos he could fullfill his childhood dream to play for clubs which he had supported since he was a kid.

If that's true then can only assume that ManUre didn't catch to many Auxerre matches

That was feckin' close they must have thought over the last couple of season

Sorry, doesn't cut it with me, he left after one year, who knows what would have happened if he would have stayed.

Yeah, losing him Popescu and Barmby in the same summer was awful. If he has stayed, maybe, just maybe, who knows.
