Not sure how it's obvious he's talented. The first 3 games suggest he's no master tactician, from the transfer window it doesn't seem like he's this incredible scout with an extensive knowledge of players around the world. Where do his talents lie? Good at job interviews?

Oh, he says "we" instead of "Tottenham" in interviews.

So he's a genius.

What is your evidence of that?

He has only managed for something like two seasons in total. One in Portugal was very successful.

I don't know why we gave him the job.

But we have given him the job, we now have totally overhauled the team

Unless we are in relegation form come Christmas we should support him

Getting on his back already is counter productive

We've started shit - no question about that - but if we didn't leave all of our transfer dealings so late time after time and now seemingly back to the old scattergun approach so that we have no cohesion, players that don't really appear to fit this purported 'system', no fit line leading forward... Harry kept it simple but effective, so that we weren't so reliant on complex systems and drilling etc. upon hiring AVB the hope was he would instil this into the team but he would be provided with some semblance of players he needs for it all to work.. I'm really not sure despite his public utterances, that he has been given this..so its not looking positive at all yet!

I'm not going to rip into him, we have after all just sold two of the best players we had, can't be easy for him as he's had no time at all to re-shape the team. But I am concerned at what's happening all the same, couple of bad decisions today.

Pretty sure we watched the same game as last week against WBA. Same subs, same tactics. From what i have seen he has not learned anything from his shit run at chelski. And why gallas over dawson...seriously, Vertonghen and Dawson would be the best in the back.

In many ways signing AVB was worse than Ramos. Ok so both had a good season in their own leagues but we already knew AVB was no good in the EPL.

I'll still support the team but the chorus of 'told you so' is gonna get louder from those who were against AVB in the first place.

Didn't want Harry to go, and has deep reservations about AVB as his replacement, but some of the negativity on here is just, well childish really. Give the man a chance.

Yes and no. He has got the job but i didn't give it to him. They didn't ask me unfortunately!

hopefully he will be a great success but i don't have any confidence that he will be. If he is a complete disaster, we will have to face up to it- we can't wish it away.

Good post OP! I was a fan of Harry, I wanted him to stay but alas that is not the reality. I have voiced my opinion at the time and have moved on. We MUST get behind AVB, he has a plan and country to what some think is getting us playing the way he wants. It was never going to be an over night thing and I personally don't think were gonna see his style of play implemented for a few months, probably around Christmas. No use moaning and actin like children.

Some of you are unbelievable! You wanted Harry out, you got that. And now you're already jumping on AVB.

Yes we were poor, but get behind the team. Jeering is not going to help.

Problem for me is he cant seem to motivate the players very much, they have yet to work their socks off in any of our games this season, allthough 2 decent first halves vs Nufc and West Brom.

I dont mean that the players aint good enough or he have less to work with, because i believe our squad is very good, just that it seems they dont give a fuck most the time.

Motivating the players is the most important thing a manager can do, get em well up for it, and for me AVB doesnt do that:(

How do you know the people who wanted HR out are the same people as those who are jumping on AVB?

I was in the camp that didn't want Harry to go either and I was relieved when Hodgson got the national job, but Harry has gone, he isn't coming back and we have now invested 3 years in AVB.

Don't write him off after 3 games

If he needs time then maybe we should make him assistant and get someone in who can do a job for us NOW.... as time will see us slip backwards and end up back as a mid table team and not have any chance of going forward again.

Nonsense. All managers need time. Give him a chance to get things right.
