Not sure how it's obvious he's talented. The first 3 games suggest he's no master tactician, from the transfer window it doesn't seem like he's this incredible scout with an extensive knowledge of players around the world. Where do his talents lie? Good at job interviews?

Hear, hear. One thing you'd think he could have sorted by exploiting his portuguese connections with Moutinho, and he didn't even manage that.

I had no time for him before he was our manager - and he's at the bottom of a pretty steep hill right now as regards my affections.

He is not a tactician - the EPL is clearly beyond him, and he's hardly a man manager is he?

For all these reasons I LOVED it when he was at Chelsea, but the smile's been wiped right off my face now we're lumbered with him.

God I hope I am wrong.

Give me more names than Ferguson of managers who has started bad and gone on to win things....... Why should we give a manager time? We are a top 4 club...we dont have time.....TIME is for clubs that doesnt win stuff....look at the footballworld and open your eyes...we need fast improvent or he is out...I dont care if we get top 4 in 2018...I want it now and so do you....time....give me a break!

3 games is no time for an almost brand new team thats just had its spine changed to gel. What should be consistent though is the fans singing for the team. We're still spurs. Booing after 20 minutes is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Just so you know, we're now being compared to arsenal fans on other forums. Well done booers. be proud of that. Fuck me. i think im gonna give up.

Not going to start ripping into AVB but alarm bells are ringing, on paper we should have at least 6 points now instead we have 2

More worrying is the way we are playing

I hope and pray he can turn it around but starting to get a bad feeling

I don't. But by "you" are talking to Spurs fans as a whole. Not everyone of course.

But there are a lot of people on this board and Spurs fans in general.

There was never a general consensus that HR needed to be sacked or one that AVB was the right manager.

The people on AVB's back right now are very unlikely to be the ones that were in favour of him at the beginning.

way too early to be getting this bandwagon rolling but i cant say that i have a lot of confidence in him and im not convinced that the players do either from the lethargic peformances we've seen

have seen him make odd decisions repeatedly and hasnt learnt from mistakes in our home games that have cost us what could be 4 important points come game 38

what worries me is my chelsea mates used to moan about how they always conceded late goals under him last season...now we're doing the same...coincidence? I think not...sure players are to blame for switching off but are they lacking fitness to keep it up for the whole 90? That comes down to the coach...good to see dembele get off the mark though

So Spurs fans shouldn't boo but it's ok for them to give up like you're thinking of doing? I'm sure those fans who were angry and booed at the end will be back next time and cheering them on from the start, waiting to see some improvement on this week's performance before voicing any opinion. Unlike Arsenal who with their large easy to get to stadium get a lot of tourist to games, the Spurs fans are pretty knowledgeable about the game and can quickly see when what is being produced on the pitch isn't acceptable. I don't see anything wrong with booing to show your displeasure at a performance that was totally unacceptable.

obviously talented
- based on what? Porto achieved what they did in spite of him not because of and I'd say there is serious concerns about his abilities to manage a team of players and understand how to get the best out of them. I said it when he joined Chelsea and I'm staggered we now have him here...

It's not just about switching off though or lack of fitness it's about momentum. In each of the 3 games AVB has given the impression from his substitutions that he is happy with the scoreline and looking to protect what we've got. That gives the initiative to the oppo and creates pressure for us. Anyone who knows about Tottenham, knows we cannot defend a 1 goal lead. I remember when Harry 1st took over he'd try to sub Modric for the last 15 mins to protect a lead and it often went against us, once he learnt the best way to protect what we had was to continue to attack and keep the ball we saw out games much better.

Still baffled that he didn't start Adebayor and Dembele. FFS

Why are people baffled by this?

Look, I don't rate AVB, just like I didn't rate Ramos but it's totally understandable he doesn't start Ade, who's been on a 3 month long vacation and hardly kicked a ball and Dembele who just signed 24 hours ago.

As long as people are realistic about our finishing position this year then i've no problem. Anything higher than 8thwill be good with so much change in such a short amount of time. I hope this time next year we are in a much better shape.

I really don't understand this reasoning, we were in a fantastic position last season, with a manager taking us forward and being described as the most exciting team in the prem... now we should be happy to finish in the top 7, how exactly is that a positive way to progress a club. Levy's decisions should be taking us forward or at least keeping us stable if we can't break into the top levels due to excessive wage levels. I fed up of hearing about it being a 3 year project, the club has been on the up for a few years now, each component employed within the structure should take us further forward. A 7th place finish would decimate the positive steps of the last few years. I'd like to see who Levy's could buy on transfer deadline day after finishing 7th!

Wow the amount of people slagging Avb is ridiculous give the man a break he has lost our 2 best players.

All on his back moaning and booing after 3 games, sure it's not a good start but I think we should atleast give him some time!

I'm sure next week Livermore won't start and I hope gallas and defoe dont either but thats his decision!
Just get behind the team!!!
