He went from genius to clown again in 1 game. Really scratching my head at his tactics again... Smh. He set us up for failure from the moment he picked the team and formation today. The players from Weds would have been on a high, pick the same team and go attack Swansea... Why oh why would you want to blunt out attack by putting Son at lwb for an hour? Wasted precious time and chances to get a goal.
Terrible decision making today Poch. Utterly terrible.
You know Son spent about 10% of his time playing as a wing back right? Christ they hardly got into our half. 10, sometimes 11 men behind the ball. Sissoko was my only gripe today. He doesn't have a creative bone in his body and shouldn't be played with a DM. Yes it is frustrating we didn't win but in the end that came down to bad luck and poor finishing.
We have been doin that for a while now...typical fickle fansAgree to an extent about bad luck and poor finishing costing us the win today.
But I don't think Poch helped things by picking 3 CBs and 2 DMF.

I've just seen that Poch has said Davies had a big knock vs Dortmund. Why was he on the bench then if he wasn't fit to play? Why not KWP who has played LB for England and presumably can cross with his left foot? Why didn't Poch bring on Davies instead of Aurier and switch Trippier back to the right?
I like shortbread
When you have a team that can't get in behind a defence and a very right footed left full back it is going to be difficult whipping in crosses for Llorente. With Davies and Rose being our better option to deliver crosses and these two now being injured, we are now limited with options to bring in from squad.Presumably when we signed Llorente we knew his major strength is converting crosses into goals and that is part of why we bought him, to provide another option for scoring against teams defending in numbers. When he came on the player most likely to whip a right foot cross onto his head was playing left back and the player most likely to whip a left cross onto his head was on the bench. Why didn't Poch bring on Davies instead of Aurier and switch Trippier back to the right? Aurier looks like a great player for us, but his crossing was very ordinary. Did any beat the first defender?
I do wonder whether Poch disproportionately favours certain players and fits them into the team regardless - especially ones he's been involved in purchasing.
Spot on, I think.I personally believe it is not so much limited with options. I more believe that is the mindset of Poch. Great example; KWP voted MOTM against Newcastle, and dropped unfairly, and never featured since. We loan out Onomah who even with his critics is far superior to Sissoko.
Aurier is dropped (rested) after his first game for us, and impressive one. He should of started yesterday. He got it wrong and paid for it. And he was fully backed in the transfer market, so no excuses. Fair enough, we never got that creative midfielder, as we are holding out for RB.
Agree but will this decision to hold out for RB could this cost us a bit in the short term as we probably won't get him until 31st January anyway, along with lamela still out this will have quite an impact on our creativity.I personally believe it is not so much limited with options. I think this is where my frustration comes in. I can live with the lineup even if I disagree but the bench... 3 of the players in Davies, Dembele, and Winks were some combination or not fully fit, not match sharp, or recovering from an injury and were probably never going to feature or be brought on to close out the game. Foyth is another on the bench who would probably never play so really our bench was Llorente and Aurierx both who featured. It was truly baffling that we didn't have a KWP or TOB or AG or Edwards or any of these highly thought of prospects who could have made a difference. I just really and truly do not get it.I personally believe it is not so much limited with options. I more believe that is the mindset of Poch.
