? I don't understand your point. No Sky Sports journalist has copied anything.

Fucking hell, that article is a copy of an article in the Spanish paper AS from yesterday.

If you are a journalist the least you can do is look for the original source yourself rather than wait for Reuters to copy it and translate it(which btw they have an english version)

All of a sudden a lot of mainstream news sites are running with this article when Reuters copied it from yesterday. That isn't journalism

All seems to originate from a La Nacion article, where the head of their version of FA says he intends to have talks with... (including Messi). Article seems speculative in the context that he is talking from a "how-to-reraise-argentinian-football-pride" POV. I have seen it paired with various other articles (facts to internet journoes it seems) last couple of days, even one pairing it with a 4 month old article where a "friend" of Poch' qoutes on where will Poch be in the future (A: Real or national coach perhaps?) is used as facts...

As others mention, Reuters making it "official" made the snowball roll.

So a non-story to me :)

Biesla is the obvious choise imo. The 3 mentioned all have careers going, are in their prime and just about to break through to the top tier level internationally. Let Biesla talk Messi out of retirement, ironic as it sounds and prepare his own.

I recalled reading about this rumour a few weeks ago and it went quiet. Just found the link:

MASSIVE news if true. Sevilla coach Sampaoli wants to take the Argentina job, could leave #SEV less than a month in.

Apparently Monchi has told him not to even bother talking to the AFA & stay - or call his lawyer. Sampaoli says if they call, he leaves.

According to @Indirecto the three choices are Sampaoli, Pochettino(!) and Simeone. This could get very messy.

W
ell that's Poch out of the race then. Even Redknapp who desperately wanted the job got more or less priced out by Levy :ROFLMAO:

Argentina, the country, would end up back in hyperinflation days if they went for him.

He was mentioned as soon as Martino resigned, but I don't think he's in the mix anymore
Apparently they will be interviewing Bauza and Russo next week, and the president wants Bielsa

According to an article in today's La Nacion discussing the 11 candidates for the job, Poch is mentioned as the third of the three possible managers currently under contract in Europe that they couldn't afford to pay for. The solution is said to be them working part-time and in conjunction with an assistant who does all the day to day work, with the manager turning up for games. The author of the piece laughs at this as impossible. Seems Russo is the overwhelming favourite for the job anyway, and if it's not impossible Poch could be offered it, it would only be on a part-time basis.

Poch is ambitious. There's no way he'd want the slippers of international management at 44 years of age.
