The "Bale money" transfer cockups have set this club back bigtime.

Not that we had a choice about the transfer, but if we had kept Bale and not have had the 7 'replacements', we'd
probably be much better off today.

Yup, I said similar yesterday. It's a distinct possibility we may end up with loads of them still here - I can't see Levy being happy to pay people to sit and twiddle their thumbs for a second season because Poch won't play them. It's dangerous to burn bridges with them so early.
So Levy's going to be angry, sack Poch for not playing his investments? Then the next Manager comes in and inherits the same problem? Nah, Levy will have to put his ego aside this summer and let these players go for reasonable fee's.

And if they don't want to go...?

And I would have said yes to all those transfers - which is why transfer are so difficult.

We are were we are, no blame to anybody. As with most mistakes done with best of intentionn.

Massively underwhelmed by him.

Doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes and hasnt organised our defence.

I'd move heaven and Earth for Klopp if he fancied a project.

Can't see the likes of Capoue, Chiriches, Paulinho, Soldado sticking around if they get the chance to go. Maybe Kaobul and Adebayor, but not the rest.

Your not thire agent are you? ;)

We could see these and another 8 in contention for the elbow.

The review would be pretty short if I were line manager:

"Listen mate, you don't have job security just because you happen to be employed by somebody with a history of bad managerial decisions. You get job security only from being a good manager. (Or from owning the club, but that's not an option for you). I would ask you to consider that, and present to me within the week actions how you can spend your summer improving your job security given what I've just told you".
"Your keen supporters might be creative in coming up with excuses for you, I on the other hand lack a creative sense in that area".

I don't really think massive change every summer really helps. If we could move on Paulinho, Soldado, Capoue, Chiriches and Ade, I'd be ecstatic. The likes of Fazio, Dembele, Stambouli, I'd be OK with them staying for another year.

Let's pretend for a minute Poch would be subject to yearly reviews like most people on here will be in their jobs. You would think he will have one of sorts, who knows.

What objectives do you think he was set and how do you think he performed?

2014-2015 Objectives:

Objective 1. Work with previous signings purchased with Bale money and see if there are any players there worth keeping, try and get the best out of them.

Performance 6/10: Eriksen stand out performer, Lamela and Chadli have proven albeit inconsistently that they deserve to be part of the squad. Soldado, Capoue, Paulinho and Chiriches disappointing and should be moved on. Manager has probably done the best he could with the players given to him.

Objective 2: Work with younger players and continue to bring them through.

Performance 8/10: The emegence of Kane and continued development of Bentelab has been impressive. Mason has shown at times he has a place at this level but we need to see him continue to improve. Dier integrated into the squad very well and Danny Rose's form has been unexpected bonus.

Objective 3: Manager new signings

Performance 5/10: Eric Dier the one standout performer who will have a long term future at the club. Questions must be asked about the game time given to and the futures of Fazio and Stambouli. Vorm was always backup and Ben Davies has been sidelined due to emergence of Rose form. Yedlin and Ali ones for next season.

Shouldn't be judged too harshly on this, main objective to use previous season signings.

Objective 4: Team Performance

Performance 5/10: A couple of standout performances in the league against Arsenal and Chelsea and a trip to Wembley. There were signs of the new philosophy at the end of 2014 but results and performances have been disappointing at the end of the season.

Concerns:

Captaincy: Manager must take responsibiltity for picking Kaboul and Adebayor as captain and vice captain overlooking the likes of Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen.

Man Management: Slight concerns at the treatment of some players. Townsend often played when underperforming whilst over looking Dembele and Lamela who deserved more game time.

2015/2016 Objectives:

Objective 1: Identify players surplus to requirements, bring in some experience to mix with youth and look at players more adaptable to style manager wishes to play.

Objective 2: Continue to look at youth and integrate the likes of Ali and Pritchard.

Objective 3: Close gap to top 4 (currently 10 points or more).

Agree with this almost word for word except abou Soldado. I don't think he's beyond redemption. Fresh season and full preseason could rejuvenate him. Moving him deeper as a second striker would also make him much more productive.

I agree re Fazi and Dembele not so sure re Stambouli, simple not seen enough to decide.

If the money is right any of them could be off.

We wasted £80m, 80!

Klopp is a massively proven manager who had own titles an taken his team to the Champions League final. Pochettino has done nothing of worth in his career so far.

The man's a magician. Working wonders at getting Lloris to pull balls out of the net.

Seriously though he truly deserves more time because he hasn't got his "own players" in yet, is in a new country, is learning the language, and has only had one season to produce the most losses in a Spurs side since 2008.

I'd say give him a contract extension, after all Levy did say that he wanted to take the Club in a different direction and he's certainly achieved that.

He at least needs to be given a chance to bring in the right players.

It's clear that the high press is important for the system, hopefully with Mitchell on board we'll have a decent window and a few more academy lads will be able to step in. I'm optimistic and I think we'll see an improvement.

If we're still seeing no signs of improvement by the second half of next season then it's probably time to be concerned, but still there has to be appropriate alternatives available.

Unfortunately it's going to rest on Danny Boy's ability to take a hit on the deadwood. I can't see this happening which is going to make it difficult for Pochettino.

The biggest problem he faces this summer is getting rid of ALL the players he obviously doesn't want to work with.
If this doesn't happen then he won't be able to bring in enough new players and having burned his bridges with so many players...how is he going to manage them next season?
I think that also comes down to Levy actually backing the manager as well and getting rid of some players at cut price for the good of the team.

I don't think all of the players that Pochettino would ideally like to sell have completely fallen out with him. Capoue and Kaboul come to mind as priorities for the door, as well as Adebayor. But apart from that, players like Soldado, Paulinho and Townsend do try but they just aren't really good enough. Having said that i'd be happy to keep Soldado as a 3rd choice option.

Dembele's a strange one but I could see him turning out for us next season if he's needed. Chiriches has had quite a bit of game time, so whilst he isn't good enough, I don't think Pochettino thinks it's impossible to work with him.
