Not every single one of our academy players will make it, and other teams will have better players. It's the scouts job to identify the best, and Maddison is better than the current midfielders we have. He isn't the same as Alli, and has the ability to be even better.

Better than Alli? Hmph. What is this heresy you speak.

If Maddison is good enough he'll make it to the top of the pile. In the meantime our youth policy would improve his development and at worst he'd be a potential investment and would push those around him to be their best. If Poch wants him, get it done.

Of course Alli is good, but Maddison has an incredible passing ability and with both feet. He can tackle and score like Alli, but from what I've seen, he can be as good or even better. I'm a big Alli fan too.

Obligatory YouTube video - bonus though there is no dodgy soundtrack.

Video shows great touches and control, nice range of passing and an eye for a goal.

It's pretty clear to see why would be interested.

can't believe how many people are complaining about potentially signing a great english prospect. he could have the same impact as Alli for all we know and at that sort of money it is worth a punt!

Yep, there are a lot of people who think Levy should splash the cash, and a lot of people who think we should not sign anyone because it's nice to see academy players. Luckily these people aren't leading the team. If Maddison is wanted by Poch, then bring him here. Simple.

If we're relying on our academy we might as well sack most of our scouts.

Sky sports would have to give their "reporters" a 1/20th pay cut too.

He looks a talent. Lovely touch, great ball striker and bit of pace over short distances.

I've seen this lad play and the first thing that occurred to me was that he reminded me very much of Modric in that he was very agile, he could turn in tight spaces and had that extra 2 yards acceleration that allowed him to get away quickly. I'm not going to say he will be a star as there is still a long way to go but definitely a top prospect that we should be looking at.

If we don't pick him up one of the other big sides will
