Mauricio Pochettino says a host of players will be keen to join Tottenham but he will only sign a player who will improve the squad - and he would prefer to promote an academy prospect than buy someone for the sake of it.

If we don't sign Berahino (who Poch has previously said is the "right player") because we are trying to take the piss and get him on the cheap then yes it will be Levy's fault.

Its an easy thing to say but from all the evidence we have Berahino is the striker Poch wants, I would say this site would be pretty split on signing him given the asking price... even if its who Poch wants.

Chealsea, City, United and even Arsenal are having similar problems in signing an out and out striker.

Ok, he hasn't publicly said it, but its implied by all the ITK, media and that fact we made about 100 bids for him in the summer. And when the subject of a plan b signing came up after the window shut, Poch said something along the lines of there being only one target.

I like the way Poch conducts himself now.. Excellent of a someone being confident and still present himself responsible for any possible unfavourable outcome..

Is gonna be a gamble no doubt, but say if he made it for us this season in achieving something unimaginable (top 3), or even a 4th place with Kane still being the only recognised forward, I think next season players will be fighting for him.. Think now he is even becoming a draw for players to wanna play for him already..

Personally I think he probably knows of a fair few Strikers that fit the bill..... But...will their clubs want to sell in Jan? Will they sell at a price we deem acceptable? Does that player want to join us?
I'm sure he could reel off a list of strikers he can find that would fit the system and the "philosophy"...but doesn't mean we'll be able to get them.

I don't care what this site thinks but what Poch needs. If he thinks he can turn SB to Messi, that is all that matters.

Don't forget we are talking about UCL spot worth min 50m in rev... There is still loose change left if we qualify...lol. We need to rest Kane to spear head our top 4 position.

Because this Jan, and next Summer, and the Jan after and the Summer after - are in fact, not, last Summer.

we have one striker, all that rubbish about son and clinton being able to play up front on the evidence isnt true, and i think even poch has admitted this
possible title, cup games and we have one striker who played all through the summer and has hardly had a break
would be madness, but that hasnt stopped us before
