Headline: there's nothing to report, so we'll report that there is nothing to report in the most inflammatory way possible.

Journalist: "Do you want to criticise Jose Mourinho?"

MP: "No."

J: "Are you sure? You could criticise X or Y o Z? Surely there's something."

MP: "No."

Headline: "Pochettino refuses to trash Mourinho".

As if trashing the opposition manager is the expected, normal thing to do and Pochettino is stepping out of line by not playing along.

MP did really well.
Said Mourinho was a friend from back when he managed in spain.

He didn't have to ask what was being said. Gave them nothing.

His best press conference for a good while.

On the subject of criticism and Mourinho, the post match press conference after we handed out the 3-0 beating sums him up, and sadly that of many modern day managers and leaders in all walks of life.

Mourinho is alway quick to demand respect and credit when he wins and there are times when he does deserve credit , but he is always quick to trash others, and blame others, I can honestly say that when things have gone wrong, I have never ever heard him say, "this is on me, or I take full responsibility for this, or the buck stops with me." He simply reverts to petulant child mode and demands respect for past triumphs as if criticism is beneath him and that he should always be given a free pass from it.

Praise and criticism should be accepted in equal measure, when fact, time and situation deem it appropriate, it's a lesson he will never come to learn.
