what annoys me is that even in bad seasons clubs like Man U Liverpool and the Goons seem to pick up the odd cup, whereas we dont.

Borussia Mönchengladbach are probably the standout team from the unseeded side. Preferably we'll avoid Rostov, Krasnodar, PAOK, Olympiacos, Hapoel, Ludogorets and Astra purely for the travel aspect. Although it would be amusing if we drew Astra Fucking Goo Goo and smashed them into next week after Spam lost to them two seasons in a row. Gent would probably be the ideal draw.

would prefer to avoid the Spanish or anything that = long distant, especially Rostov due to the weather out there, though they would be rusty as they are now on there prolonged winter break, and that doesn't restart till March

on the travelling side of things which I too above want to avoid, might not be so bad if we don't reach the 5th round of the FA Cup, we will be away the 1st leg

In terms of minimal travel and a winnable tie we would be looking at Genk, Gent, Alkmaar or Anderlecht

Based purely on standard of opponent we would ideally want Hapoel, Astra, Ludogrets or PAOK

Weakest looking Europa league I've seen in years. Obviously we can lose to anyone and if we play like we did in CL even more so. However in my opinion at our best we're more than capable of beating anyone left in it.

Really hope we take this seriously as we have a very good chance of at least reaching the semi finals.

I can't remember when we last beat a Spanish club. So no Celta Vigo or Villarreal. Bobby Soldado is nailed on to score against us.

No German sides either.

top 4 and CL retains top players and pays salaries, cup wins doesnt. by becomimg a regular in the CL makes us grow bigger as a club in the long run. sevilla won the europa many times. no one gives a flying fuck about them. wigan won the FA in 2013, portsmouth in 08, no one gives a shit as well. maybe the fans of those club does. but i didnt see how those cup wins help their club grow.

Wtf

Sevilla are sitting 3rd in la liga, in the last 16 in the CL (qualifying from the Europa win), and have a very healthy trophy cabinet

Europa wins have been a springboard for Liverpool, Chelsea, Sevilla, Porto, Athleti in recent times.

Top 4 and no trophies will not keep top players at the club. Combined with some actual winners medals will be much more appealing.

Yep. You only need to look at Arsenal for the past 6/7 years. CL every year but all their top players still left to go and win trophies/get more money.

Theyre still able to attract quality replacements though, the likes of Isco would consider arse before us for instance if a two horse race

That's just small minded bollocks. Maybe they aren't mentioned on MOTD but Sevilla have been widely revered for their 3 consecutive Europa leagues and I guarantee their fans will be talking about that in 50 years time. Just as Wigan and Pompey fans will forever remember their respective days in the sun. Of course growing as a club is important but if we sacrifice glory and romance what the fuck is the point in being a fan? We may aswell just invest in stocks and wank as they go up in value.

We'll smash them all but I suppose Villareal and Bilbao are the teams to avoid. Both going fairly well in The League and with a bit of European pedigree behind them.

Other than that you'd really have to say we should be beating the others, but then we thought that about Leverkusen and Monaco.

I watched them last night and in the two games against Inter, they are pure battlers. I'd rather avoid them.

PAOK or Astra Goo Goo for me.

Ye but I want a decent shawarma...
