Absolutely bucket loads of love for Poch, and i think sometimes his command of the language causes him to be misquoted but.....i wish he'd stop bloody moaning about things, seems to have got worse and worse at it.

'Vents his frustration'? What he said was all perfectly reasonable with no hint of frustration. How they love to stir the shit.

^ Clearly read the headline and didn't listen to the actual press conference.

This is why I aways try to watch his press conferences on Youtube rather than rely on the spin put out my the media.

What else has he moaned at?

Just the other day he was saying the same old stuff about Spurs fighting with 5 other clubs with different projects.... he's been saying the same things for a few years and while 12 months ago it was valid, i can't see how he can keep saying it now given the Stadium is built, our profits are soaring and we are actually signing players. I don't think it's helpful, it comes across as 'poor little Spurs, struggling to keep up with the big boys'. I'd far rather he said more positive things, like 'we're in the new stadium now, we are making more money and we expect big things'.

I think he's just setting expectations as opposed to moaning and to be fair he's not wrong - despite having a bit of money now we are still nowhere near the likes of City and Utd in terms of revenue and spending. Also you should watch or listen to the press conferences, he's often asked a questions and responds but his words are twisted and presented out of context.

If Poch moaned so much then it would transcend onto the players ala Mourinho, he doesn't moan he explains our reality.

If only the taxpayer had (like West ham) paid for our stadium-then we'd have loads of cash to splash around

Yep, agree with your points - Definitely not verging into Mourinho territory and press conferences are best watched - i did jump the gun rather by seeing the headline and posting.

However, i still think he says things he shouldn't - which is the only tiny negative i have about him because like everyone else i think he's fantastic.

But i can't be the only Spurs fan who didn't like the constant press speculation when he said he might leave if we had won the CL (misquoted or not). And as mentioned earlier, i do think he needs to change the narrative about us being the poor relations of the 'big 6'. I think it causes more problems between fans and Levy, cos everyone jumps to Poch's defense but whether it's true or not, i don't think it serves the clubs best interests if fans are against the chairman. We are all in this together.

When i see a Solskjaer press conference he always says things like 'we are Manchester United and we expect to be the best/winning the league' etc. I'd rather Poch up played things than downplayed them, especially as we are actually very good !

Would also say that come next years financial statement, we will have overtaken Arsenal on income, so can't always use the 'hard up' argument.

Again, i'd stress i'm nit picking, i love the bloke and literally can't think of another negative about him,so i'd be interested to know if i am the only fan who feels this way - as i'd clearly be wrong if i were !!! maybe i'm just touchy !!!

I don´t think you´re alone mate.
And yes you´re a bit touchy - using three exclamation marks proves that. ;-)

A headline of "Pochettino talks rationally about being blamed for signings' wouldn't get so many hits.

I agree he does speak shit sometimes, don't know whether he likes to play with the press or he generally contradicts himself, probably the former...like him saying that he may leave if we win the CL and he tried to say that his comments were misinterpreted, he knew full well what he was saying lol.

Think I've learnt to take what he says with a pinch of salt anyhow and I reckon that's what the fans ought to do now because if you scrutinise his comments it will drive you crazy but the overriding point I want to make is that we should just trust him, he's earned it.

Absolutely, love the bloke and trust him 100% (or 110% in football manager speak).

I am concerned about not replacing Llorente. I understand why we reduced his wages given he was reportedly on $100k per week without being a starter, but he was crucial in our Champs league run in and even scored some important goals in the league. Son, Moura do not offer what he does, so fingers crossed Kane’s ankles hold out!

Thought we offered him a new contract?

What’s the story with Pochettino? I’ve always found him to be media savvy and only occasionally being caught out when some things are lost in translation.

But since just before the Champions League Final, his comments to the press about his future and his preseason interviews seem bizarre.

He has consistently made comments about the transfer setup at Spurs, essentially saying that whilst Klopp and Guardiola have complete control over the club’s transfers from negotiations and contract offers, he does not.

His recent press conference was bizarre. His response to Ally Gould’s questions about Toby’s contract was disproportionately hostile and his refusal to comment on Daniel Levy’s interview was also strange.

He just doesn’t seem happy with something and I’m not sure what’s going on, especially since the mood in the club apart from this is as good as it’s been in the last 10 years!
