I need to be convinced that Rodriquez could regain his explosiveness 100% after that injury and more than a year away. Would really urge triple think before buying.

"But if not, we still need to add players with the right profile for the way we want to play. It is not just about players who play in the Premier League."
Far more important. We must chase players who a) would like to sign for us (and not Arsenal, Liverpool etc), b) will be wanted in Pohcettino's sytem c) will improve our starting line up. All other concerns are unimportant.

Players I like to recommend to MoPo : Benteke, Cabaye, dzeko, Milner, bale :), clyne, Alderweireld, schneiderlin, stones, matic...to name a few.
These have premiership experience and would improve us. We need some solid defenders.
I'll add Rodriguez, Vlaar & Naismith that list.

Spurs did not even give it a proper go at Wembley .

When Villa lift the cup will Spurs fans have the decency to admit that the club was wrong to get rid of Sherwood ?

Won't admit we were wrong sacking Redknapp with a 5th, 2x 4th place finishes and a CL quarter final so not fkin likely.

I think we need more experience in the team in general, we are a very young team and in a lot of games it shows, a lot of our players are learning on the job. An older head guiding them, would make a hell of a difference imo.

If it means that we do not qualify for the ropy (disruptive, we never seem to win the following games) league, if timmy wins the FA cup then I may say perhaps we may have been too hasty to get rid of him.

Save on fees, and pay on wages? I'm talking about possible freebies, ie Micah Richards, James Milner, Ron Vlaar, Danny Ings (tribunal fee to be agreed), Yevhen Konoplyanka.

We don't want to 'Spend' more than £15mil? Fair enough, P/X Lennon for Miralles or James McCarthy. Enquire about Schar & Ayew (both free, I believe?).

Just sharing my thoughts (y)

Danny Ings we have no chance of getting, a lot of clubs looking at him, the same with Milner, the rest on the list we may have a slim chance can't really count on it working out.

Mirallas was quoted as saying in February “I like it over here, but I feel ready for a new challenge. I dream of playing in the Champions League next season,”

That rules us out. McCarthy would be too expensive, I have no idea why he want to come to us.

Schar and Ayew are both possibilities, if we want those players we have to get in early, I'm not confident that will happen neither is poch.

Cheers fella. The players I mentioned were just suggestions (y) . I'm not 100% sure Miralles is a no-go, based upon the statement you quoted, though? I don't think any of the clubs above us are interested in signing him? And without wanting to appear totally delusional, I'd suggest he has significantly more chance of actually playing in the CL for Tottenham Hotspur, than he does for Everton FC. We also have some International team-mates to help him settle in & feel at home.

I think it's clear Everton want to purchase Lennon permanently, so we do have a carrot to dangle, one to help subsidise the cost, should we actually seek any players currently on the Everton wage bill.

I do agree that we really need to move quickly if we want signings that could be of interest to others (y)
