Disagree. He had some really important games for us. He might not be another Modric, but he is an honest player, who on his day is very very good.

Portsmouth are to ask Tottenham's permission for Jamie O'Hara to play in the FA Cup semi-final between the sides.

The midfielder is ineligible to play against his parent club in Saturday's Premier League match at White Hart Lane after joining Pompey on loan from Spurs.

The two teams are then due to meet again at Wembley on 11th April and O'Hara

would have to sit out unless an agreement can be reached with Spurs.

Such is O'Hara's desire to play in the semi-final that he risked the wrath of Harry Redknapp

earlier this week by admitting he would not support Spurs in their FA Cup replay against Fulham.

Portsmouth manager Avram Grant

plans to contact Tottenham and he hopes they will not deny O'Hara the opportunity to play in such a prestigious match.

"There is a clause in his contract and we need to accept that and respect it," Grant said on Sky Sports News.
Promise

"But if you are not in a top team it is not often that you get to a semi-final at Wembley, especially at Portsmouth, and Jamie wants to play this semi-final very much.

"I can promise Tottenham that he will not score against them."

Grant has a good relationship with Redknapp after working as technical director at Fratton Park

in 2006.

He explained: "Harry is a good friend of mine. I was here with him when we started the process at Portsmouth.

"We tried to do something different and I think the year that I spent working with him was a great year."

Am I imagining 2008?

Guarantee that he won't score? Sounds dodgy Avram.

No fucking way.

BURN HIM!

Whats with all the OHara hate? Its not as if he's said anything out of order or even been involved in such a request.

He's been Portsmouths best player this season and proved he's a pretty handy player to have. Is he Modric? No of course not. And its not as if Harry or Levy would entertain such an idea for more than a second.

Get off your high horses you lot and stop being so childish.

This is what the Guardian has Arry as saying

"It wouldn't be a problem for me [if O'Hara played against Spurs next month]," said Redknapp, "but it may be a problem for Jamie. He's coming back here next season and that may be difficult for him if he has scored the goal that's knocked us out of the FA Cup."

The final decision lies with Levy though, and no matter how much compassion we'd like to show, I can't see Levy allowing it, and damn right too!

It's not about him being a good player or not, it's about him scoring a goal for either side. An own goal and the whole semi-final would be put into question and the media would go mental. If he scored the winner he would never be able to play for Spurs again and as such his value to us as our player would vanish instantly.

In a non cup game it is less so than a cup game as the chances of a penalty shoot out are fairly high in a semi-final cup game, but if there's a penalty shoot-out deciding the game then the consequences of him scoring/missing a penalty become much more relevant to working out the integrity of the situation.

Very true. But you have seen the rest of the Pompey side, right? This is Jamie O'Hara we're talking about. You could put Leo Messi in there and Spurs would still win 6-3.

They didnt let Frazier Campbell play because the guys comedic football skills would have detracted from the spectacle.

Crikey, even Harry's getting carried away by thinking this is a semi-evenly matched football game. I know he has to say this sort of tripe (and indeed revels in it) but our oppo are truly dreadful. They barely beat Hull at home and then got thrashed by some genuinely mediocre sides like Liverpool.

I'm increasingly wondering if Grant isn't stirring this situation up to distract our preparations by worrying about O'Hara, meanwhile he is preparing for this (their only game that matters this season now) without the kid.

Very stupid if we lost to Pompey.

After saying he hoped Fulham won so that he could play, there is no chance he should play.

If O'hara plays it will backfire. I'm sure and hoping Redknapp is saying this to make sure they do not have any real motivation to beat us today. Also although I don't think O'Hara has a real future with us keeping him fairly sweet is important to get the best fee. I'm guessing Redknapp has told Levy to say no and let danny boy take the blame and be the bad cop. 'Arry is also very cleverly putting pressure on O'Hara not to play. Wembley is over rated anyway.

As I said before, by letting him play against us will effectively breach the loan contract would it not? Therefore we may aswell just call him back from the loan, seeing as Pompey want to breach it anyway, we may aswell do it for them and shut them up.
