Not saying its my best eleven, but would like to see us try at some point:

In a 4-2-2-2 almost. Lamela and Eriksen float around in free roles. Fullbacks bomb forward to provide the width whilst Sandro and Paulinho offer the cover. Adebayor drifts around to link up play whilst strike partner Soldado is the poacher in the box.

Bloody hell, is that you Ossie? :D

Lloris in goal playing sweepies. Gomes as alternate in this system, Friedel isn't a sweeper keeper on account of him being as old as time.

Walker & Rose first choice full backs. Because they're fucking full backs, you think they're liabilities, how bad will it get it we're sticking centre backs there?! Naughton (who's not as bad as you all make out) and Fryers (who might be) as cover. That's...fine. Serviceable.

Vertonghen & Kaboul as centre backs, because they're got pace and intelligence. Dawson hasn't but we'll play him if we must. Chiriches is an enigma to me so let's say he's backup for now and hope for Nastasic v2.

Central midfield should be Paulinho and Sandro. If we're playing 4-3-3, then we add Holtby/Eriksen/Sigurdsson, NOT Dembele. Dembele is box to box. Not creative. He's the alternate to Paulinho, not the accomplice of.

Attacking midfield is 3 floaty players in Lamela, Eriksen & Holtby. They go left, they go right, they go left and right. Townsend & Chadli for emergencies. Lennon on at 70 minutes to annoy the left backs of the world.

AND THEY PASS TO SOLDADO WHO DOESN'T LEAVE THE TWELVE YARD BOX. I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT OFFSIDE. STAY THERE.

Basically nailed it. AVB needs to get this to work, and to start motivating Ade.

My Team:

--------------------------- Lloris -----------------------------
Walker ---- Kaboul -------------- Vertonghen ---- Rose
---------------- Paulinho ------ Sandro -------------------
Lamela ----------------- Holtby ----------------- Eriksen
-------------------------- Soldado ---------------------------

Kaboul and Vertonghen are the perfect CBs for a high line. Should they lose a step on a center forward, they've got the ability to make up that lost step or at least slow them down enough for Lloris to sweep up any danger.

Walker and Rose are the best we got at fullback so we've got to hope they stay relatively healthy and put together good seasons (primarily Rose directed with that statement).

Paulinho and Sandro are yen and yang in my opinion. I think it will be a heavily rotated position with Capoue and Dembele obviously seeing substantial minutes. You really can't go wrong with any mixture of Sandro/Capoue and Paulinho/Dembele.

In attack, similar to the Chelsea '3' I went with 3 attacking midfielders that should be deployed in a fluid formation. Each can pop up everywhere and dictate play. Holtby is fantastic in behind the striker and Huntelaar is a striker that benefits from service much in the way Soldado does. Keeping that in mind, putting Holtby in the same position where he was so successful with Schalke and Huntelaar should bode well to get Soldado more involved and give him better chances.

Don't know where people are getting eriksen on the wing from? He's a centre attacking midfielder doesn't have the pace to play wide!

He's played left forward plenty of times. He'll be cutting in from the left side and being creative. I'd be surprised if we don't see him playing there. As for Dembele as a left forward, hahahahahahaha. Nuts.

Must say that i'm not sure how well an advanced three of Eriksen-Holtby-Lamela would work. Both wide players drift inside and it will get very congested.

I think something like Townsend-Eriksen-Lamela would be more suitable, Townsend hugging the left touchline and Lamela cutting in from the right.

The problem with having two inverted wingers is that you are heavily reliant on full backs for width, and we have a serious problem there as neither of our full backs can cross the fucking ball.

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vert Rose
Sandro Paulinho
Lamela Holtby Eriksen
Soldado

The back 5 pretty much speak for themselves and everyone seems pretty much agreed on that.

Both Paulinho and Sandro are comfortable on the ball and are capable of moving forward and are an excellent base for feeding the forwards.

Lamela, Holtby and Eriksen are ideal for creating a fluid moving forward line. Lamela and Eriksen are capable of playing wide and centrally, and Holtby has the work rate and movement to go left and right too. I think they would make an extremely hard to mark trio for supporting and supplying Soldado.

Provided the wing backs work forwards and provide the width, allowing the wide forwards to move inside and switch and play off Soldado. Due to the numbers forward we should be able to press them high up the pitch and turn them over in dangerous positions.

I'm looking forward to seeing this, can't wait until they all settle and gel with each other.

I like that. I would play that in our home games. Away games I'd be opting for a single striker though.
