Holden from Bolton is a good player and he's injury was a big reason they went down this season, but its an area we well covered in

Wouldn't be suprised if Villa, Everton or even Liverpool go in for him when he's fit

Fletcher for me - scored more headers than anyone else this year (remember how crap we are from corners) and 30 premiership goals in three seasons in rubbish teams (twice relegated) is pretty damn good. With better service he could hit 20 goals in a season.

Think we should be selective here - only point in signing players iof they are good 'value for money', in positions we need to strengthen and they are genuine options.

Fletcher fits that bill as another striker after the star striker we crave. With 50 games in Prem, Europa and domestic cups there are plenty of games we ccould involve him in - its only a couple of years ago that he was being talked about as a potential recruit to RM/Barca and whilst he has not hit those heights he has lots of skills that might flourish better at Spurs than a relegation form Wolves

Yakubu is a funny one - could have sworn he was in his thirtes. Hasn' looked that good for a couple of seasons so would need a real long hard look on a trial befiore includiong him on the list of possibles

No to everyone else.

I'm guessing a few others feel the same but i wouldnt like to consider many of the players who dropped as priorities, more as back up/options.

Fletcher would be an interesting one. He looks like he takes his chances and i reckon on a confident run, with the chances we create he could do very well. Although the figure of 10million in the press seems a little steep for him.

Hoilett has done well in spells, would be interesting to see if the challenge would motivate him or cause him to fade out, as a few others have in the past - Bentley, KP Boateng.

A player i really liked and would still potentially take over Jarvis would be Lee chung Young. Looked an excellent creative wide player when he first joined Bolton, been very unlucky with injuries lately which could make him a risk but if he could get his fitness and form back i think this lad makes things tick.

Yakubu isn't over 30 my arse.

Most African players ages aren't correct due to passport irregularities.

I have it under good authority that he's actually 48.

It's a shame we're in the market of relegation loser clubs. I hope our scouting network is wider than this.

With you on Lee Chung Young. He did really well in his first season and got crocked before he even started to play for Bolton this season. Missing Holden and Lee were the two big reasons Bolton lost their relegation fight. Of course, they never did replace Elmander.

I don't see anything towards that we are in the market for relegated players. However seems to be good enough market for gooners (Podolski).

So clubs that have been relegated:
Dijon
Caen
Auxerre
Hertha Berlin
FC Köln
FC Kaiserslautern
Wolves
Bolton
Blackburn
Villarreal
Sporting Gijon
Racing Santander
Lecce
Cesena
Novara

Browsing squads there are quite a few decent players on that crop, however not sure there is that much what we could use.

Maybe, but we've picked up good players from relegated clubs before. I think we got Scott Parker, Paul Robinson, Darren Bent, Michael Carrick, Fred Kanoute from relegated teams. All good players who were successful in some form or other for us.

Flecther's name props up a lot now lets think about Tottenham our position where we'd like to be and lets now look at the quality we'd need to rise above what we achieved/lacked too last season. Flecther and most of the EPL relegated players do not possess the skill sets for move Totteham forward...maybe Hoillet and Nzonzi both being young can improve.

I don't think we should be looking to add squad depth we should be looking to add top quality first to our top 11 then 14 players. For the love of money speed and work rate being of those skill sets is a damn most. We should be profiling players example Kranjcar has technical ablities to wow over but that lack of speed and work rate IMO his not for the EPL whereas Lennon tehnically is a lesser footballer his speed and IMO workrate counters some weakness to contridict myself Teddy Sheringham did not have speed but has superb tehinque mental strength and work rate. The aim is to get that balance in a player- Speed Work rate technique perfect example is Rooney Gerrard Ramires...in our squad Van De Vaart covers a marthon Modric has the lot Bale has too may need to up work rate Adebayor fits that bill to a degree tho not that lighting quick (King has the lot but for fitness)

I'd still take Kevin Doyle, providing we get Ade and Leandro as the other two centre forwards. Though he may not get as many goals, I think he'd have a couple of dozen assists.

This thread brings back horrible memories of Chris Perry and Neil Sullivan.

I'd rather we gave Harry Kane the chance instead/ahead of Doyle...one things for sure we need strikers especially if our system of play will change from the bog 442

Fletcher is way better than Doyle, but too injury prone. No way is Kane ready for Spurs. And will he ever be?

How do you really know if that players not given a chance...example Steve Bruce failed to give McClean a chance at Sunderland but once O'Neil came in the boy moved onto another level its all about trust and a chances to prove otherwise. People go on about Hoillet but seriously we have a player potentially far greater if given a chance Dos Santos was talked about throughout european football at one time even a bigger prospect then Chelsea's new recruit E Hazard.....its a rat race!
