Andrea Petagna has tested positive for Covid-19, and he was with Lo Celso, Lamela, Dier, Sanchez, and Foyth on holiday...

None have been pictured in training for us.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on what’s right / fair for teams missing players due to Covid? Suck it up and get on with it or introduce a threshold of number of players before a game gets postponed?

I think you have to treat it like any other injury really. If during the season there is a flair up obviously that will cause some difficult questions to be asked. But once the season starts their should be procedures in place to protect players. Ultimately, players are the least vulnerable group to covid, and players getting it preseason is in ways not the worst thing in the world. so.

3 or less = game goes ahead. 4+ = game postponed. Any Covid cases or isolations due to negligence or breaking the rules = match forfeited 3-0.

The players don't need to go abroad to have a break, i'm not sure why this was allowed being perfectly honest.

Why wouldn't it be allowed? They have families and partners as well - so they're not allowed to travel but rest of the world is? Get real.

What's more why are we so adamant that those who went on holiday are the ones that caught the virus?

I agree with you and mentioned this in another thread however; there is a point of saying look this is an exceptional circumstance, no need to go away given the situation and risks. Having said that im not berating any player

Im not overly fussed about this to be honest as Kane seemed to be hitting his peak fitness towards end of last season and not like its been a while since we had the end of that season. Same goes for any player, im not blaming anyone to be honest, everyone deserves a fucking holiday after the year this has been.

The thing is, do we quarantine players during the course of the season to mitigate any risks of them getting it? Do we tell Kane et al dont go out?

Not saying they've caught it, that they're susceptible to quarantine on return. And i'm not blaming the players ffs, but surely the club should have mentioned the run of games and that we don't want to end up with 5-6 players barely being able to train properly for 14 days after their break. It's pre-season, and although the break has been shorter the players will still need to catch up on fitness.

Also as far as i'm aware, our season finished on the 26th July, so the club should have encouraged any holidays/visits to family during the period immediately after this knowing that if quarantine applied then they'd be back for pre-season. They didn't have to ban it completely, just limit the dates.

Anyone know if you’ll be able to watch a replay of the preseason games once why’ve finished?

Likely to miss to game on Saturday
Honestly I think it’s fairly poor form from the club to only offer the option to watch live. One of the matches is at 3pm on a Friday. I’m a member so get it free, but if someone is paying whatever the fee is to see all three matches, there should be the option to watch each match at a later date if you aren’t able to watch live. Seems a bit strange that isn’t the case.

Imo it’s more about the «need to» basic. You must ask yourself; do we need that vacation in the Bahamas or will a trip to Wales sort out our needs? Joke aside, as long as there’s an open border, people will travel and the possibility to contract the virus is there. This isn’t going away

Yeah, they could stay in the UK and visit places here and stay safe like Aberdeen or Leicester :cautious:

If you consider the others which have not been seen in training photos:
- Ndombele, Sissoko, Aurier - all may have gone back to France if they did would need to isolate
- Toby - Belgium on the list
- Fernandes - Portugal was on the list but no longer is
- Bergwijn - Netherlands on the list
- Alli - who knows...

Guess we will find out from the line up tomorrow v Ipswich
