Most likely see Liverpool cutting short their training camp in Austria, as Austria goes onto the isolation list from 4am tomorrow.

But also a smart move by Liverpool initially. As if you are not on the uk isolation list as a country an individual who has been in a country who was on the isolation list, can go to that other country on the way back to uk and use the time in that country towards their isolation period, even though in that country you do not have to isolate if you have come from the country on the UK list. Bit of a loop hole there

So for example, Liverpool have a player who was in France when UK isolation came into place, now needs to self isolate in the UK for 14 days. Instead of coming back to UK they go to a training camp in Switzerland which is not on the UK isolation list but also as a country does not require people arriving in their country to self isolate from France. Means they can train with the rest of the team, and when come back only need to self isolate for any duration left ie if they are in the training camp for 14 days no need to self isolate when they get back to UK

Am I wrong in thinking the government has been saying for months that anyone entering the country will face 14 day quarantine periods?

They relaxed it with a list of countries, and since then it keeps changing.

So you could come back from Austria this week and be fine, but from this weekend you have to quarantine.

That'll be interesting. Most of the first team will be off on internationals so it will be probably be a mix and match between them and some U23s

Is that the Nations League? Seems a bit risky playing international matches one week before the domestic season starts, with all the unpredictable travel restrictions currently.

I will never understand why they feel that we need the Nations League tournament in the upcoming season. Just fuck it off to create some margin in the schedule.

Am I the only one who hasn't received an access code to watch the matches despite completing the form?

Indeed. England are going to Iceland and Denmark

But they always gave 24 or 36 hours' notice that a quarantine was starting though so you'd think the club would have their ear to the ground and would get the players back asap if they heard that the country they were in was being added to the list.

It’s so confusing. Personally if I was a Spurs player I’d have stayed at home but I guess I get why they went abroad, it’s good to get out of Britain, which is a bit shit.

But still it’s a massive risk they took.
