If you consider the others which have not been seen in training photos:
- Ndombele, Sissoko, Aurier - all may have gone back to France if they did would need to isolate
- Toby - Belgium on the list
- Fernandes - Portugal was on the list but no longer is
- Bergwijn - Netherlands on the list
- Alli - who knows...

Guess we will find out from the line up tomorrow v Ipswich

Dele was in Ibiza at the end of last month. If he went somewhere else, no idea.

Not sure where Dier, lo celso, foyth and Sanchez went

gazzaniga was in Italy at the start of the month.

Not saying they've caught it, that they're susceptible to quarantine on return. And i'm not blaming the players ffs, but surely the club should have mentioned the run of games and that we don't want to end up with 5-6 players barely being able to train properly for 14 days after their break. It's pre-season, and although the break has been shorter the players will still need to catch up on fitness.

Also as far as i'm aware, our season finished on the 26th July, so the club should have encouraged any holidays/visits to family during the period immediately after this knowing that if quarantine applied then they'd be back for pre-season. They didn't have to ban it completely, just limit the dates.

Suggesting that the players have a week break isn't realistic because that's what you're proposing. The season finished 26th July and training started on the 17th August - 1 week to holiday and 2 weeks to quarantine, sorry that's doesn't make any sense and unfair on the players. I'd imagine the club would have encouraged them to go away and recharge the batteries, if you look at the amount of games we have to play next season we need players rested up.

Anyone was susceptible to catching the virus because they were not being tested anymore - it doesn't matter if they went away or stayed In this country.

This is something we just have to deal with, there no ideal solution to this and people just need to get use to the fact that it's highly contagious, I'm actually amazed that out of all the Prem teams there was only 14 cases.

Dele then went on to the island of Mykonos with KWP so he should be fine as Greece isn’t on the list.

Nah those guys are professionals. I'm sure the club informed them multiple times where they can go or when they have to come back so they don't miss preseason. If Kane went to Bahamas and is on quarantine now, I'm sure him and club knew that and they all agreed he can come back to training just few days later. It's not that the players always arrive at training at the same time. Every preseason some players have longer rest then the others.

Is it also fair to say that we play a more conservative style of football now and Jose is less about ball busting levels of endurance fitness? He wants players to play most games, but not at full throttle. So rest is more important that conditioning.

Højbjerg was important to get in as we need to tactically integrate him, rather than get his fitness up to scratch.

Don't really get why two weeks quarantine?
Lets get him and his family tested and if negative whats the point of staying at home.

Yeah exactly. I don't know how it works in UK but in Poland if you go on quarantine and in the meantime your test is negative your quarantine is finished.

Might be something to do with exceptionalism, I agree it's illogical, but it's the rule for everyone.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on what’s right / fair for teams missing players due to Covid? Suck it up and get on with it or introduce a threshold of number of players before a game gets postponed?

Players should not have been allowed to go holiday outside UK ...

Why should be players treated any differently than any other person that is working.

Its their holiday, and if there is no travel restriction set by the country its their good right to go wherever they want to. Or what are you telling all the players who come from abroad?

Players obviously be treated differently as their work and normal people work are completely different ... Professional sports and normal white collar jobs are different in terms of income, commitment and everything else ....

Whilst there's nothing to stop the players going away and they're perfectly entitled to. I am disappointed that so few are back in training with only a few weeks until the start of the season. I know there's an argument to say that the returns may be staggered but the fact Davies and Moura are back makes me believe that the majority of the first team were probably expected back by now. I think we saw a picture also where it said that training was meant to start the monday just gone.

I'd be interested to know how Jose feels about things given his dedication and his obvious desire to hit the ground running. If he is fine with it then there's no problems.
