No surprise for me to see Harvey White coached as a LB.
He's probably the player most suited to the inverted LB role.
Remains to be seen if the quality is enough.

I'm open-minded myself but with regards to the Walker/Rose comparison, they were further ahead of Regi/Porro defensively, even at the beginning of Poch's reign.

Happy to see how it all plays out of course, but I would be seriously concerned if we fielded that lineup against Brentford next month.

Totally fair! Something that we'll just have to see what happens there. I personally would love to see a Regulion redemption season. Overall, I thought he was decent in his time year and he had an absolutely horrible last year.

Both him and Porro I think are very hard workers with good attitude, that makes me hopeful that further up the field in more of an inverted CDM type role they would be able to press after losing the ball rather than having to sit deep and have a defense first mentality.

The midfield looks good as well, but every person on here knows (and probably has doubts) about Ndombeles work rate after losing the ball. When I look at our best teams in the past, I think of Wanyama and Dembele, who both were hard workers. I have high hopes for Bissouma, but it remains to be seen if Ndombele can play both ways. If he does - fair play.

Am I right in thinking you need to subscribe to a whole year for 45 quid to watch the West Ham game on Spurs TV, when it's free on West Ham TV?

Apologies if this has been discussed already. Didn't have time to read the whole thread.
Simple answer: Yes.
Real answer: You're not just subscribing and receiving 1 match only for the whole year... but you know this don't you!?

In the business of reading tea leaves - I take it as a good sign that Kane is on the Bib Team - at least for this season.

That tells me that he and Ange are on the same page, and that Ange trusts his commitment to the club - which suggests that Kane is definitely not agitating for a move (even if Charlie is). I think if Kane were even just non-committal, that Ange would accept that and move forward with players who were committed.

Just for the sake of clarity, I have not yet passed my tea leaf reading class, but I am studying fro my exam.

Even if Kane was non committal if he's here he plays.

Of course I know this but thanks anyway. I would be happy to pay a smaller fee month to month, and would then cancel after the last friendly. But I wont be paying 45 quid for a load of content I'll likely never watch when there's much more interesting free content around e.g. podcasts. Feels like another attempt to fleece the fans when they could have taken the opportunity to give the fans something back especially after fleecing them on match tickets.

Are the grey team being punished, seems slightly one sided🤣

I'd say that first team is the one we'd all like to see line up against Brentford in a few weeks (!). Tanganga aside, perhaps.

Interesting that Reguilon is chosen over Udogie, presumably for balance. He's far more suited to a B4. Could be about to get his second chance at Spurs (though Ange has had more time to see him)

I had the same thoughts originally when we had Rose/Walker as both were labeled as attacking first fullbacks at the time.
Can anyone with a better memory than me - that is, anyone at all -remind me of what Poch's full back rotation pairings mainly settled down as? Was it Trippier/Rose and Walker/Davies?

As much as that team makes me aroused, I think the midfield is flimsy as hell. And the full backs suspect defensively.

Personally I would never play Ndombele/Maddison as two number 8's - it should be one or the other. Same with Porro/Regi. You need a Davies or Royal to balance them out.

I have been saying it for weeks. We need a new left back. The position needs a complete overhaul.

The jury's still out on Udogie. If he can play in a back 4 I think we're absolutely fine this season between him, Regi and Davies. Also, if we play Royal at RB he's good at tucking in and playing inside, which means we can probably get away with a more attacking LB like Regi/Udogie on the other side.

Don't think LB is a high priority this summer tbh.

When they were both fit we pretty much exclusively played Walker and Rose IIRC, excusing the occasional rotation for fitness purposes. The other 2 were just backups with Trippier getting serious minutes once Walker told Poch he wanted out.

And then sell Udogie right away?

Did I say that?

Can he play left back in a back four? 99% of his career is as a wing back, which is a completely different position. Then you’ve got Sessegnon (not a left back), perisic (not a left back), Regullion (been injured/out of form/been linked with going back to Spain) and Davies, who is basically our only out and out left back.

It isn’t ideal is it?

Definitley not. But as long as we can not find solutions for the other ones on the payroll I can not see us making another big money move here. Especially with Sess injured and basically no chance he will leave.

In an ideal world we get Tapsoba and van de Ven in and can shift van de Ven between LB and CB. But first of all we need a starting partner for Romero and probably shift a few.

And maybe so far give Reguilon and Udogie some minutes in pre season to see how they cope with the demand of Ange.

Not surprised by Tanganga and Reguillon, both have pace and are good on the ball.

A little surprised on Porro over Emerson, that defence scares me, but makes sense with the football he wants to play (and the players we have).

The west ham game will be fascinating.
