Thankfully for Spurs fans as well, Bentancur has been answering a few quick-fire questions to let Tottenham supporters in on his life a bit more. And interestingly, he has revealed the nickname he has which could catch on the with the Spurs faithful.

“Lolo. Because when I was a kid my brother couldn’t say Rodrigo. He would say Loligo, and then it was Lolo,” Bentancur revealed on Spurs’ official YouTube channel.

I am kinda surprised people on this forum don't know Bentacur as Lolo yet! I am sure this has come up multiple times on the Spurs social media posts.

Thought it looked like Benta but never heard lolo before so thought it was Lo celso first but then i saw the beard and that he had darker hair than lo celso. Thanks for lettiing me know

Last years tour squad was announced on the day that they flew out , supposed to fly out today so may appear on the Spurs website/twitter later.

Will be interesting to see if Ange is ruthless with his squad for the tour. On the basis we have a squad of 33 and we will probably take 25, who is gonna be left at home?
We know that Bentacaur, Forster and Sessignon wont be going so possibly another 5 being left out.
Lloris, Perisic, Sanchez, Lo Celso, NDombele?

I wonder if getting two new CBs at the same time, who are clearly both expected by the fees to be at '1st choice' level, and expecting them to fight it out with our one existing first choice CB, is actually a recipe for none of them ever feeling established at the club, and developing properly?

People like to know where they are within hierarchies even - or especially - when their position is being challenged.

An established first choice CB being challenged by a younger incomer is an ideal competitive situation, and an established first choice pairing who stay together for a couple of years, whilst seeing off competitors for their position, is ultimately the desired result.

If we want to avoid the chaos of ruined CBs which Man Utd endured through the Mourinho era, why don't we first just invest as much as it takes to get a LCB who we like for the long term, to go with our RCB who we like for the long term, and see where letting them try to establish a partnership has taken us in a few months...?

Fairly sure they make you buy a year to get the exhibition games and you’re stuck with it after that.

Its worth it for the pre-season friendlies alone - imo

But I am pretty sure its a annual subscription.
