Hard to see Porro being bundled out the door. But wouldn't be a surprise that we spent so much money and time acquiring him only for him to be unmatched to our next managerial move. Maybe if he sticks around long enough he'll be back in vogue, like Lo Celso.

I reckon he just needs some coaching to improve his defensive awareness and positioning. He's young enough to improve. It's not like he's 29 or something.

Back to back games where the 2nd half players have played better than the so called 1st XI.

First Half standouts:

Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison

Second Half standouts:

Richarlison, Solomon, Perisic, Lo Celso

All we need now is new CB(s) and we’ve the makings of a decent side.
Personally, I think Udogie was a bigger standout in the 1st half.

Sounds crazy, but on the limited amount of minutes we've played, none of the "first choice" front three are getting in on merit. Perisic and Solomon have all looked better than Son on the left, whilst Solomon has perhaps shaded it on the right because of his two footedness. Kulusevski looked uncomfortable going outside his man today, but I wouldn't say he looked miles behind the other options.

In midfield GLC and Maddison starting in front of Bissouma would be something I'd like to see in the next pre-season game. Sarr was decent imo and showed some ability shooting from outside the box, something that we will need when teams come to sit deep. Skipp I thought showed a lot of brains with some of the positions he was taking up. Despite it not being his natural game, he has been taking the training on board and cropping up in the right place at the right time.

Defence still scares me. Emerson is the safest bet at RB although Porro did swing in some lovely deliveries from that side, it will be a balancing act to be sure. Udogie on the left looks like a certainty although Reguilon was fine there today. Not sure we can assess the CBs given they've hardly had any work, but I'd really only be happy with one of Davies, Tanganga and Dier sticking around (assuming Sanchez also goes).

Really depends on what we do with Perisic. If he stays - then we have Solomon and Perisic. We could also bring in a versatile forward if Kane leaves, someone who could play 2 or 3 spots in the front line. And Ange mentioned today that Richi could also play a wide spot.
Personally, I don't want us to bring in a versatile forward. In Angie's system, the striker needs to be constantly moving around in and around the box and standing on the shoulder of the last defender to push the defence back and it is very rare for have a striker that also plays wide not to drift to the wings, it's just instinct for them.

Why at we playing in all white? Are we Leeds Utd? If we are going to tour abroad then we should be playing in our team colors. This smells of American monochrome bullshit.

Looks like Ange already knows his preferred line-up. The only questions are:

(1) what happens when we buy a new CB? Does Davies move to LB or does Udogie keep the position?
(2) who wins the third midfield slot: Skill, Sarr, or Bentancur when he returns?
(3) as someone else already mentioned, can Porro keep the RB position ahead of Royal when we play decent opposition? Surprised that Ange doesn’t prefer Royal as he’s very reliable.
We have a first team squad; nobody should be guaranteed a starting line up spot. We want competition for places.

Personally, I didn't think Son was as bad as many are saying on here, yes he looked rusty, but lets not forget that he has only been training with the team for the last 10 days and this is the third country we have played/trained in during that time.

Kulusevski really needs to practice crossing with his weak foot, as constantly shifting back to his left takes away a lot of momentum, but I recall him crossing a few times with his weak foot in his first season, so hopefully its just a confidence thing.

I also think playing with Kane isn't helping, as he is currently too static. There were a few Deki and a few others got into positions to put a ball into the box, but Kane wasn't there and his lack of movement is enabling the opposition defence to hold firm and there is no space for the Wingers, CMs or FBs to attack in the box because of it. It might just be a combo of the heat and humidity and just not being peak fitness that is causing the lack of movement from Kane, so won't be too harsh on him, but would like to see Richarlison start with Kulusevski and Maddison to see if this helps.

Yeah, it's not so much about Porro as the chaotic approach to recruitment we take at times. He was signed at a time when we played 3 centre halves and wing backs. RWB was supposedly his position. Now it's ambiguous because we won't be playing wingbacks.

Ange has his work cut out to an extent because we have a messy looking and unbalanced squad. I suspect he'll whip the squad into shape, but needs support to shift players out.

So the players arrive in London on Thursday. I wonder if Ange will give them 3 days off and have them report back on Sunday. I'm sure many of them will be eager get a mini-break in before more hard work next week.

I would get them all back on Sunday and get Kane in on a Monday!

Anyone want to be a legend and point me in the direction of the full match please? I haven't got SPURSPLAY.
You can the link below. It is from our local boadcaster. If you cant watch the match via link below, try to download their app MeWatch and register for an account.

The best part is, it is absolutely free! You can even watch other friendlies featuring other EPL sides for freeee.

However, they only feature our friendlies during the Apac tour. The Shakhtar and Barca friendlies are not in the broadcast schedule.

Hope this helps.

What do they expect to get Ange when asking about Lewis? Ange has been here one month..
Journalists are such dickheads asking the manger about things that are nothing to do with him or his job and about which he will know no more than journalist.
