Not the best game from our youngsters. Couple of highlights was Ceballos and Townsend but he was greedy, although to be fair, he's a class above this bunch of players and should be more involved with the firs team. Also thought both our keepers did well, were quick off their line. Don't think anyone else stood out and thought Tom Carroll was very poor

Mcevoy looked lively when he came on but only gotabout 15 minutes I think

Seems we wrote the same report. So I'm glad I wasn't being over critical.

Yep seems like it. Wasn't much to report on really, bit of a poor game and first half we were especially poor, couldn't even keep the ball despite technical players like Carroll, Falque, Bentaleb, Ceballos!

Caulker, our most successful youth product since Ledders, is flogged off, and on the same day Carroll and Townsend, after having again impressed in preseason, are once more relegated to the reserves and oddly enough look like they can't be arsed...

Yeah - i can see us trying to squeeze in another friednly inbetween the Monaco and Espanyol games. At the very least one of those training ground friendlies against West Ham or OPR.

Disappointing to hear that Carroll didn't shine last night. He really should be if he has as bright a future as alot of people think on here. Still to be convinced myself that he's ready for our first team.

People getting down on Caulker - one thing to bear in mind that selling one of your youth projects for 9/10m validates the whole youth concept at Spurs and means the money spent on it is worthwhile

You have to remember that they are just back from Hong Kong.

I know people that take take over a week for their bodies to adjust to the time difference after coming back from holiday.
Not sure if they have trained since being back either. First team only went back yesterday, but if they knew they had a game they might have been back on Tuesday?

Don't we have to qualify for The Europa League?

Good point, but isn't that after the season starts?

Understand about the travelling point and maybe we are playing enough games it just seems like we haven't played that many 1st team games. 2 games in hk, a couple early on against some football league teams, then Monaco and espanol. Hopefully it's enough preparation.

Know what you mean. Especially as it appears that we still don't know our first 8, at least by now.

Especially with Bale looking like he's off.

We're currently looking at for the start off the season:

Lloris
Walker - Dawson - ???? - Rose

??Sig - ?? Parker - Dembele

Lennon/Chad - Defoe/Ade - Dempsey

Hopefully we'll see the likes of Holtby, Kaboul, Sandro get some game time in the next 2 friendlies.

News on Soldado is positive but La Liga starts after the epl usually so who knows what condition he will be in if he signs.

Anyone know if we're going to play a low key friendly against a lower league team before we depart for the US?

Nothing is on the fixtures, and there is only 5 friendlies which is a bit of a worry. I can't see our players being that match fit having our first match on the 19th.

I haven't heard anything or read anything about any friendlies before the US Tour.

5 first team friendlies isn't actually that odd, as I'd imagine there will be a few Tottenham Hotspur XI games too once we get back from the USA (think there's one against Ipswich), and Poch decides which players will travel to Finland for the friendly vs Celtic and who will, effectively, stay in the UK to form a Reserves squad.

EDIT: A quick search has found that we are indeed sending a Spurs XI to face Dagenham and Redbridge on the same day we face Celtic in Helsinki.

We've actually got a big squad, so even leaving out all those at the World Cup (who will join up later), we have this squad (oinly adding a couple of development players where we are maybe short in one position) : and that's without any new faces.

So I think we will see more Spurs X1 games being added for the development squad players and any frionge players (eg Falque, Ceballos) that Poch isn't keen to have in the first team squad

Goalkeepers : Friedel, Archer, (McGee ?)

Fullbacks : Walker, Naughton, Fredericks, Rose, Fryers

Centre-Backs : Dawson, Kaboul, Chiriches, (plus Fryers/Veljkovic)

Centre Midfield : Carroll, Holtby, Sandro, Capoue, Veljkovic,

Attacking Midfielders : Eriksen, Mason, Pritchard, Lennon, Lamela, Townsend, Sigurdsson, Falque,, Ceballos

Forwards : Adebayor, Soldado, Kane
