Tricky one, I did start to think maybe a season out of Europe would benefit us in the short-term, however long-term I think we need the exposure the extra games give us, keeps our large squad happy with the game time and more importantly champions league for the winners!

To quote previous posters; when did we get so full of it that European football of ANY sort is below us and I would love it, love it to see us finish above Man Utd for the first time in my lifetime!

After all the game is about glory, it's about doing things in style, with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot not waiting for them to die of boredom, for these reasons I can never hope we lose!

Is the risk there though that like with AVB, the new manager might be playing full strength teams mid week?

Of course there is.

No EL is best for us next season.

I disagree - respectfully of course :) - because I think that we need to continually learn to deal with the pressure of european football if we are to progress as a club. If we have a years break it will assist us much like Liverpool this year - and granted we could potentially get into the CL but the year after we will again struggle to deal with european football.
Besides I love watching spurs, despite current nonsense - the more games the better.

If by some miracle we get back into the CL sometime, I hope we don't shoot ourselves in the foot by going all out in it. That would diminish our chances of getting back into the CL.

Liverpool clearly benefitted from not having European football this season and can build on a higher league position.

As a player, I would never wanted to lose so I accept that argument too.

We may be better off in the long term not having Thursday games next season but I don't think anyone would suggest throwing the game.

So, the 30 of you who actually wanted Spurs to lose today based on the assumption that Man Utd would win - I reckon the Man U result proves you to be an utter bunch of lady gardens.

Hey, that's insulting to lady gardens!
My apologies, you are of course correct.

Lady gardens are nice things, Spurs 'fans' that want their team to lose based on the assumption of another team winning to finish higher up in the table, are not.
