I'd be interested in people's views on this. Personally, whilst a lot of people have been puttting forward Bill Nic's qoute of Spurs being in Europe, I'd like a year out of the Europa League ("EL") as I think it'll give the team the best possible chance of a Top 4 finish.

I don't think we need the EL to attract players as I personally believe, with the right manager at the helm and set up, we already have a squad good enough to finish Top 4.

Vote away people...

No brainer for me. There's a Champions League place up for grabs and we're much more likely to get it through the Europa than through the league.

Play the kids/squad players in the early stages and then once through the groups take it more seriously.

Now that it's actually worth something, we'd be daft not to want to be in it.

Also, if we lose at home to Villa, that may be grounds for us being stripped of our league status.

If you want to create a winning culture, you play to win. Anything less is unacceptable. With a new manager in place next season, and a large squad, early Europa games are a great way to spend extra time working on new tactics installed by the new manager.

I will be disappointed if we fail to get a result against Villa, and I'd be disappointed in any supporter who roots for us to lose.

De Boer would love the Europa. Great way to test out the squad and get to know the team :)

Is the risk there though that like with AVB, the new manager might be playing full strength teams mid week?

Aside from the fact that I always want us to win and to score millions of goals and for each goal to be the best goal ever...

Maybe this year our expectations have changed? People seem more downbeat about our CL chances, so the the EL can be less of a distraction from finishing fourth and more of a goal in itself?

OK it's a second tier competition but for me Europe is Europe and I'd rather be in than not...plus what Talkshowhost said about CL qualification for the winner...got to be in it to win it as Dale Winton says...

Regardless of what is at stake I always want my team to win, simple as that. I can't understand why anyone would think otherwise.

Last game of the season, full house, wanting to ensure key players don't leave, ending on the season with a positive atmosphere in the ground... for all these reasons and the obvious one of supporting the damn team, we need to win. Irrespective of whats at stake. Otherwise whats the point of playing a competitive sport?

even though it was a curse this season because it was totally mismanaged I think it'll be great for us next season. with a new manager it'll give us fresh impetus plus it's important we stay in people's minds.

How could you want us to lose?

It sickens me.

Apart from never wanting SPURS to loose, What would any impending manager think if he got wind of such a thought!!!!!

I don't think we get to 'choose' to have a year out. With the strength of the top seven teams we may not qualify for European football again for a long time. Be in it and enjoy it, otherwise what's the point?
