We could finish anywhere from 4th to 17th and it's the first three or four games which will set the tone.

Of the others I think Arsenal are going to do much better than expected, like Le Gin says they've been written off but they've got a good team. I think Liverpool will struggle a bit and if any of the usual suspects is going to I have a feeling it may be them who finish outside the top four.

You are probably right and there is no doubting their quality. However unless they buy their physical strength has to be questioned. I'm not sure that with the current crop i would be investing too much on Arsenal at places like Stoke, Blackburn and Bolton etc. They may also find their lack of physical presence a problem in the helter skelter of London derbies!

I have a question to put to all those who think Arsenal will finish in the top 4?

Dont you guys think that Arsenal have lost far too many top players to replace them with youngsters and do as well if not better than last year?

Its not just a case of Adebayor or Toure leaving, they still havent brought in a good DM in place of Gilberto or Flamini or a real commanding centre back or for that matter someone who can take a physical approach to the attack. Last season they scored the highest number of goals from set pieces but have just lost their tallest two players.

RVP will be injured at more than once throughout the season. Nasri is out for about 5 months and Rosicky is also injured again. Sendoros and Eboue are being hawked around to a lot of italian clubs that will leave them even thinner on the ground

There's a lack of experience and depth throughout every position of the squad and a lack of a real physical presence in whats going to be a really physical season with the like of all the teams from Wolves, Hull, Sunderland, Wigan, Stoke, Birmingham, Blackburn and Bolton and obviously Chelsea.

Plus they will have plenty of midweek european games to take their attention of things and really physically stretch their squad.

A question to those who believe otherwise?

I have a great feeling, in my enlarged stomach, but, leaving aside my over indulgent summer break, I have another feeling that WE can actually 'sneak' into the CL places, this term. I guess that it all depends on how we perform against Loverspool on Sunday next....but...all in all, we look sharper and fitter (and Ramos should take some credit for that?) than ever. Hopefully, by Sunday, teatime, we will be looking at a successful start to our season.....and a RUDE awakening for those 'doubting Thomas' who refuse to accept our squad talent and depth? For that, alone, I will enjoy my MOTD highlights. I am expecting a finish above 4th.....at worst:shrug: COYS!

Wow. So "trust ole gibbsy" has gone from predicting spurs finishing 5th, to 4th if Torres / Gerrard aren't fit the whole season - whatever next? 3rd if Bentley can find his form

Their really is no escape from your open ended predictions, so many loop holes for you to come back and say "but I said it was dependant on this, dependant on that"...jog on son.

1.ManUtd - lost one of the best ever Prem players, but will be a stronger team this season.
2.Chelsea - I expect less turmoil within the club.
3.Liverpool - if Torres can stay fit they might nick 2nd
4.Arsenal - we keep predicting their downfall, it isn't happening
5.Spurs - see below
6.Aston Villa - lost a good player but with MON at the helm I expect good consistency from Vill
7.Everton - solid team but a few injuries will florr them
8.Man City - they'll bomb. Will lack consistency and don't have the right manager for a project of this scale. High expectations, players who don't care and a bonding period will hurt them
9.Fulham - solid but unspectacular. Good experience manager will see them through
10.West Ham - Will be well organised
11.Sunderland - good side with a few goals in them
12.Blackburn - a solid side
13.Wigan - the manager is an unknown quanity but Wigan will continue to asnwer the critics in the correct way, on the pitch.
14.Bolton - good enough to survive but nothing more
15.Birmingham - same as above
16.Portsmouth - same as the above two
17.Stoke - their one dimensional system will be easily dealt with second time around but still good enough to stay up, just
18.Burnley - will have afew goals in them but won't survive
19.Hull - struggled in the transfer market and their inexperienced manager doesn't know how to get them out of a rut
20. Wolves - will be awful like always in the top flight

Spurs - It feels like Jol's first full season. Just off a season where the manager took us to the top half with great form. A solid team without the huge expectations. We do have stronger competition this season though

1. Chelsea
2. Liverpool : Great team, but the manager is too arrogant, he don't care about the bench that much !
3. Man Utd : difficult start following Ronaldo & Tevez departure, SAF would survive their title chances in winter window.
4. Arsenal
5. Tottenham : not key signings, but the stability & very experienced manager could help.
6. Man City : poor manager, poor defence & lack of stability would cost it, think that £41m for Adebayor & Toure for 4th rivals could help Arsenal.
7. Aston Villa :
8. Everton : knowing as solid team since Moyes but lack of signings would made it difficult to keep it 5th now
9. Sunderland : Bruce did outstanding job before with Birmingham and Wigan, and i can see that happen there.
10. Wolverhampton : they have very decent team and already made good signings
11. West Ham : I think they are poor, but they are hard to beat at their home compared to the rest teams in second table.
12. Birmingham
13. Blackburn : considering to their financial resources, think they would be satisfied with this, Allardyce is good manager.
14. Stoke
15. Fulham :Hudgson very successful with them but a lot of teams struggled in their first season with UEFA cup, let alone the change in the competition made it longer ?
16. Portsmouth : poor start but Al-Fahim will invest a lot in winter to survive.
17. Bolton
18. Wigan : think that Martinez good manager but similar to Ince, lack of EPL experience
19. Hull :i don't rate them, even when they got results last season, they are very lucky to play in EPL this season.
20. Burnley

I'm sorry to bang on about this, but could someone who's predicted Hull to stay up please tell me why? The way I see it it looks like they could do a Derby! They look terrible.
