Yeah agree, if he really wanted to play every week he needed to drop a layer, but I think he seems content with a bigger wage and a part time role at a bigger club, staying in London as well.

I actually think Giroud is a decent package as a player and I’m surprised none of the Italian top end teams were interested, because his type generous generally liked in Italy.
Roma were interested, reportedly, if Dzeko went to chelsea.

I imagine Poch will like the idea. Can extend his much loved break to Barcelona. Saying that, we always perform terribly when we come back.

The thing about a 2 week winter break is you could have it and the week before or after are the worst weather of the year. I know the weather is not the only consideration and most premiership games go ahead in spite of the weather, but adverse conditions around the ground can still call for match postponements. And on those occasions it would congest fixtures even more.

Just glad they're not contemplating changing the Christmas schedules. As Christmas would be long without footy...

Very frustrating for us if it comes in February as that's exactly when our superior fitness gives us an advantage and we start really overpowering teams. Poch would have to change his entire physical prep strategy.

I thnk there was a strong contingent actually advocating for him to come. Can't remember if I was among them, but I don't think so
WBA refusing to sell him to us and then sticking him in the reserves when he had a strop about it seems to have killed his career. A great shame.

It's mental to think that when he and Kane played together in the U21s he was seen as the bigger prospect.

Can I ask why not, it can only be a good thing?

Just don't fancy it. Clubs will use it to go and play a friendly abroad rather than use it to rest up. You've seen how desperate we are to fly off to Australia the second the season finishes so we can make ourselves a bit of extra cash (or set up a property deal) and I don't think it will be any different if this break is introduced.

Man City have quite a few hard games coming up between now and the end of the season.

Arsenal, then Chelsea, Man Utd and us.

They're obviously a great side but if they lost those games and the other teams keep winning you never know. Obviously we want them to win all the games but ours. Their fixtures actually show that they have a massive role to play in who gets top 4, I didn't realise their fixture list had all these games in it.

WBA chairman wrecked a proper player's career just for the sake of his own face.

I was for him. Still think he would have been a good signing too...:cautious:

It's easy to look at that stat and take the piss out of anyone who would have wanted to sign him (and it wouldn't have bothered me if we had) but under Pochettino, who knows how it'd have turned out? I'd place a sizeable bet he wouldn't have gone that long without a goal playing for us.

Trouble is, he's exactly the type of striker we should be looking at, someone who isn't scoring freely that has the potential to do that. We're not going to pick up a 20-25 goals a season striker for next to nothing and they don't exactly grow on trees.

Luckily, right now it doesn't seem to be an urgent requirement :D

Arsenal have started alright so far, although it is still early doors. Loads of empty seats but it's understandable with the weather conditions

Arsenal will probably win tonight now the pressure is off.

On the other hand I can’t see their players liking this cold weather.
