Interesting hearing Adam crafton on sky talking about F1 and drive to survive. Then goes on to say during Chelsea takeover he spoke to A lot of people why everyone so keen to buy a loss making PL club. And he heard time and time again that there was still massive growth left around media opportunities. Always felt that these Chelsea bidders knew something big was coming.

They’re all hanging their hat on in house tv for showing their own club’s games. Fortunately it should never pass the majority vote because if it did it would be like turkey voting for Christmas for the clubs further down the table.

Exactly. He's a smart man so I'm sure he doesn't think the politics in British football is the same as US baseball, where he did this, but he must have something up his sleeve.

It would be the final death of competition. No way any clubs would be able to compete with United and Liverpool. Even the financially doped ones would struggle. So outside those two teams I don’t see the logic in anyone else voting for it, at least from a football point of view. American owners like Boehly might not care about that though if the money is raking in.

Personally I think there’s a Netflix style survive to drive around the corner that covers all PL 20 teams over the season. The impact on F1 has been gigantic. It’s hard to envisage how PL could ignore that. As long as clubs are getting a hefty whack I’m sure all will agree will be fantastic PR for them. That series alone has totally regenerated F1 in the states. With so many American owners now it’s only a matter of time. PL has probably just scratched the surface of potential earnings in the states. They could literally double the TV money over next 20 years. Even the newest US TV deal had a big increase.

They won’t do that sort of thing alongside the All or Nothing series. It will be one or the other. They may introduce a Hard Knocks type series but, as with AoN, the focus will be on one club at a time. Drive to Survive has been massive, but it’s been needed to bring in new fans from a new market. The EPL has already broken just every market there is so comparing the EPL to Formula 1 is comparing apples to oranges in my opinion. I actually think those Chelsea bidders who think there are more media opportunities might be quite mistaken. The next EPL Tv deal could well be for less than the current deal.

All or nothing is Amazon. I don’t see any reason at all Netflix couldn’t pick something up. And in no way has PL broken US market. Yes it’s advancing but nowhere near hit possible potential. The domestic TV deal May have maxed out although imo it will remain steady I can’t see it going lower, Amazon are sniffing around and possible streaming by own clubs. As for the international market there’s still room for huge growth as countries like India and China keep developing let alone already mentioned US market. Football Media has always evolved it’s never regressed. There’s very little to suggest media has peaked worldwide and who knows what technology is round the corner. They’ll probably be selling Metaverse season tickets.

Drive to Survive hasn't really changed the fact that watching actual F1 races is extremely boring.

Most Americans I know that watch Drive for Survive don't watch the races.
