I had Final Score on and I think the only time they went to the reporter at the Palace-United game was when Zaha scored. And speaking of Zaha he is probably too old at this point but 14 goals in the league is very impressive. I wish we got him when we made a bid in 2016.

Good seasons for Brighton, Brentford & Palace - three good managers with exciting teams. West Ham have been impressively steady given how many games they've played; obviously Eddie Howe's done great but Newcastle aren't a club anymore, they're like Hannibal Lector wearing someone's skin. Wolves is an interesting one cos Lage was very impressive for six months but he's apparently had a lot of arguments with major players.

Think Southampton are in for a rough time next year: I like Hasenhuttl but that squad's so poor. Lampard's a bad manager and will be sacked by January. Would take something special over the summer for me not to assume they're both going down.

Not sure where else to ask this but how is next season going to be scheduled with the World Cup? Do we start early and finish late? What about europe as November / December is usually when the majority of group games take place?

There will be a six or seven week break from mid November and restarting on Boxing Day IIRC. All European group stages will be condensed so they finish earlier. Add in the League Cup and there will be virtually no midweeks off at all in the autumn.

The PL season is August 6th to May 28th so they've added a week at either end but it'll still be an incredibly tight season where the best players play an insane number of matches.

Wolves were one of the "in the race for European places" teams not so long ago and they ended up finishing tenth. I didn't realise they'd dropped off quite so dramatically.

I think that's how close the back was. 10 points between MU in 6th and Palace in 12th.

Even then, Man Utd were 23 points clear of relegation, but 34 points off Liverpool in 2nd. So they were closer to being relegated than they were the title race, technically.

I don't believe the posters who say City winning it means nothing.

It will mean something if we finish 2nd to them next season. The oil slavers are a stain on football. We've already finished 2nd behind Chelsea once before and our points total then would've won 8 titles in previous years. It will be sickening if we end up 2nd again. To finish above City you're going to need over 90 points and 100 goals. City and Chelsea have won 11 PL titles between them, stopping properly funded football clubs from winning instead. And now we have Newcastle.

A sad day for football again.

United on zero goals too.

Not sure which thread is best to ask this, so will put it here...

In terms of wrapping up this season and preparing for next, what are the key dates we're looking at:
  • When is the summer transfer window open?
  • When does the new season kick off?
  • Are our players all on holiday immediately and when they expected to report back for preseason?

Agreed. Liverpool wouldn’t have been singing about the opposition manager after winning the title; they actually have some connection so they don’t need to. Chelsea beget City which has beget Newcastle; every time they win anything is a defeat for football.
