The VAR-haters are going to be raging about that and I understand to a point. When it takes that long and it's that difficult to establish categorically that he was offside, just give the goal and get on with it ffs.

They needed to make sure of a lot of things were correct there. One of the trickier situations I've seen for offside.
Yeah it's not just Martinelli's position, it's also who the ball actually comes off in the challenge before it. The trajectory of the ball suggests it was the right decision though.

Well, thought Chelsea might struggle and Arsenal win easily, very wrong so far
And of course the Arsenal goal was offside it was clear. Don't know what the pundit was blathering on about.

Plus needing to figure out who was actually the second to last opponent. Was it that foot (and whose foot was that) or the shoulder of the defender or GK.

My dad just went on a tirade about how useless Brighton are and how they couldn't even keep it til HT.

Its harsh it is offside and I think if you need to draw lines then it isnt offside... that is my view. You can look at it a thousand times but the point at which you need to draw lines - im calling not offside.

However

This is Arsenal so I couldnt care less - COYS
