Sure. Then again, the Cahill RC at the Lane greatly helped us to get 3 pts that day. Certainly made it easier for us to contain any attacking threat they might have mustered. We all took that happily enough.

The fact that we allowed Stoke to score on their one and only serious foray into our half at home, layed a damp squib against Everton, and put in a shithouse display against Norwich again at home mean we could be 6 pts ahead of the scum in 3rd right now. Whether or not refs are shite, their's a conspiracy etc, that's the bottom line and it was in our own hands. We're not in third because of our own faults.

And I hate it.

True. And you could argue that say, and offside 'winner' in the last minute is far more decisive than that Cahill red card, but those points have already been debated fairly extensively. Ultimately, where we finish won't purely come down to our bad performances, nor will it come down just to shit referees for both us and our rivals' opponents. Or shitty things like us having one day between coming back from the longest away journey in the league and another game whilst the filth get three days between a home game against a team that's already given up and a leisurely stroll up to Wolverhampton to play a team already relegated (pretty much).

At least when we play shit it's our own fault.

Don't forget that its getting late in the season for refs and not just players. They've been doing games once or twice a week since July just like the players. Add in that the Select Group barely has more refs then PL games with Attwell getting dropped and Walton moving to the US. Teams today got to rotate their squad around but the refs don't really get that opportunity. Its 180 minutes in two days for many of these guys. Michael Oliver is 27 so he can handle it but some of these guys in their 40s? I'm sure they're getting exhausted by the end of these games. Is it really a surprise that the number of errors is increasing late in the season?

Good point, i think the overall standard of officiating this year has been poor though

Haha!

Trevor Morley (remember him?) lives in Norway now and is in the Norwegian PL channel's studio today. He said, quote, "this is the worst Liverpool line-up I've ever seen" when the team sheets were read out, at which point I turned to my mate and said "cue a 5-0 win for Liverpool". Looks like I might be right...

Liverpool all laughing and smiling then the penalty happens and look like someone just died

Unbelievable, Yak's supposed to be in form and brilliant this year and all that, then he goes and does that.

Is it a good game? I'm watching the Barca game. Bit of a snoozefest.

Hilarious. We've done lots of crazy/stupid/shit stuff recently but watching Liverpool makes me feel much better about things!
