Whilst we shouldn't have lost, if you have us those 3 points we'd still only be 1 point ahead of City sat in 2nd

If you swapped our losses against City and Liverpool we'd be level on points with Liverpool and 4 clear of City. Head to head is so often where titles are won and lost.

I sincerely hope you don't think I don't know that - because if you do then you would be wrong.

Personally I think we have a great chance to win the league if we play to our maximum. Two seasons ago we got 50 points from the last 18 games which was more than City got in the 2nd half of last season. I really think we are the strongest team from Christmas to May of any team.

Christmas to April I would say 2 of the last 3 season we have stumbled over the line a bit

No point crying over spilt milk. If we got a last min pen vs Liverpool,if Lamela scored that chance…

Lets not forget we rode our luck against Newcastle and Wolves. These things balance out.

We’ve definitely had as much luck go for as against us. Even yesterday who knows what happens if it goes 2-0.

What ifs are irrelevant. They didn't happen. Can't change the past. I liked Sonny's interview (think it was BBC) he said he doesn't care about other team's results just concentrating on our own games. Perfect attitude.

So in the 2008-09 season, Liverpool were top with the eventual winners at that time in 3rd, 6 points behind them....

What I would say is Liverpool have had everything go there way hopefully that won’t last. It’s a bit like Burnley coming 7th or Leicester winning title with so many 1 margin goals wins. Those games can easily go the other way. There really is a huge amount of luck in football.

There is luck in football but regarding the matches, Liverpool has not been leaving much to luck. If they stay healthy, even if we beat them, they are going to be hard to catch. The question is how deep are they on the attack once the fixtures start building up. If we can get a couple of guys back healthy (Verts, Sanchez, Aurier, Dier), I think we will be deep enough to carry through with or without adding a CM. Let's see if they can do the same.

Come on they’ve been lucky. Pickford calamity and mahrez pen miss in last minute. That’s 3 pts just off top of head.

The thing is when people talk about luck they talk as if we havent been lucky. Every team gets lucky, every team gets good calls, every team gets bad calls against them - its football and its sport.

If we dont win the league it is because we werent good enough and if we do it is because we were - nothing to do with good calls, bad calls or luck.

Agree in general, but I think they've had a touch more luck swinging their way.

But it's a poor excuse, and it's a silly mentality to adopt.

We can do it without moaning on about luck.

Liverpool are a Virgil Van Dijk away from being fucked
He is and has been amazing for them. 7 goals conceded is exceptional (The keepers made a difference too but VVD is special atm)

If anyone has a wish for Christmas a 3 month VVD lay-off would be a nice one!
