Let's not forget we have a perfect opportunity to take those points back again.

We have away games at City, Liverpool and Chelsea to come and I for one believe we have an excellent chance of winning them. Anyone in any doubt should simply check out our incredible away record this season.

.
It's possible to win one of those games but certainly not all three I think that is pushing the levels of realism too far.

Yes, we’ve looked sluggish. But we have shown character and mental strength, by pulling wins out of our hats even when playing bad. In a month we have Kane and Alli back, which will give us a hige boost.

I’m not saying we are favorites, but we have a good chance.
To be fair we’ve played well enough we’ve just had quite a few v easy chances that we haven’t put away, but that won’t happen every game

If Liverpool get beat by bournmouth then the title is on

It's on anyway, certainly from City's point of view.

I think Liverpool will edge past Bournemouth but lose at United.

They then face Watford mid week who have two clear days rest on them having played Friday night.

If, and it's a big if, we take care of our own business things could get really interesting by the time we play Chelsea - who will have less rest than us having played the Cup final two days prior, and hopefully Kane and possibly Dele will be back involved.

If it was at Bournemouth I'd have hope for a result, at Anfield is another matter. Though if they can pull off similar to what Leicester did, great. We just need to keep on winning ourselves though.

It will be interesting to see how the officials react now with the extra attention due to the West Ham game.

Great article.

The tone is exactly how I feel about modern football. I don't work in an office any longer but I used to hate walking in to work to immediately be told "Spurs bottled it last night" or "Told ya Spurs were shit" by a fan of a team who had no place to say these things (mostly Leeds fans).

The tribalism that exists today is utterly boring and completely mindless. Fans don't seem to support clubs because they 'love' the club, it's traditions and what it stands for, they seem to 'support' them in order to get cheap digs in at other rival fans, it's pathetic. Social media is hugely responsible for this and I know we come on here and laugh at Liverpool or Arsenal when they lose but that's mostly just between us Tottenham fans. I used to work with a Liverpool fan back when they were out of the top 4 and he was very mild about his support, never really got involved in discussions and held his opinion back, then as soon as they started doing better he was gloating and now the main instigator behind conversations. What made his support active again?

Back in 15/16 (Mourinho sacking season) I asked my Chelsea supporting pal what was happening at the club, not in a snide way but in a genuine way to garner his opinion on what was happening. He bluntly told me "I don't care about this season, not interested." and then proceeded to slag Tottenham off instead. It's becoming harder and harder to find people who you can actively engage in decent debates or discussions with because everyone just wants to gloat or slag off other clubs.
Absolutely. But I disagree that social media is responsible. I'd say that social media is a catalyst, but the process started when the PL was first formed and football became a commodity. It relies entirely on over-hyping (think the putrid 'Aaaaaaand, it's liiiiive!' horse-bollocks at the beginning of Sky live games). It's vomit-inducing.

After two really good weeks where we gained 4pts on Liverpool, the next 4 matches for both clubs are a decent test of both sides' credentials.

Spurs - Leicester (H), Burnley (A), Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H)
Pool - B'mouth (H), Man Utd (A), Watford (H), Everton (A)

Liverpool should welcome the home game against Bournemouth, which is quite a favorable fixture under the circumstances. In fact, if they don't get 3 pts this weekend, then they've really put themselves under pressure. The following three are quite tricky for them, although Everton would be a gimme if it wasn't a Derby.

All four of ours are tricky. Let's hope we're still picking up wins heading into March.

I think the fact that we are getting healthier in midfield and at the back is going to really help. Offense may get everyone excited but ultimately defense wins championships, IMO. Be solid in the back as the attacking forces get healthy and we can give City/Pool a run for their money the last 2 months of the season.

Liverpool will fade IMO as they do not have the numbers to play their pressing style twice a week especially with their injuries and Klopp really does not seem to know how to get them to grind out ugly results. Expect they will have some more draws as they have recently.

I am getting a warm tingly feeling about our players all coming back from injury to give us a full squad for the run in, that has to have a bearing on things.

Can we please conclude on One thing:
The season-long phrase from experts all over the world «Spurs don’t have the squad Liverpool and City does» is plain wrong and should be «Spurs dont have the squad City has got»

Good!

Move along...

Let's also perhaps agree in advance that we are the outsiders here and that finishing 2nd or 3rd will not be a failed season !

We have no right to be where we are with stadium, injuries and 'strenghening' so let's enjoy it

Lump a couple of grand on Liverpool to beat Bournemouth. That’s the only way that Liverpool won’t win. I am lousy at betting

In fact, Klopp has been lucky this season with his squad status and we have not, that’s the one and only difference. He has gambled on using few players often and gotten away with it so far. We have repeated an abysmal injury record, void of any luck what so ever.
