It's possible to win one of those games but certainly not all three I think that is pushing the levels of realism too far.

It would not be impossible to win all three. It might be 'unlikely' but certainly not impossible. Show some faith mate...! (y)

It's not about faith mate just a realistic appraisal of the situation that awaits us but if we win all three then probably we deserve to win the league.

For years England fans moaned at players for not showing passion or playing at their club best for their country, and now we want them to not play for them? Fickle.

Any player can pick up a stupid knock in any game or even training. If you took that mindset into any game nobody would play. I love that our boys want to represent England, even in "pointless" games. You want England to become a serious contender, then our best players need to show up and play.

Being the pedant that I am. It's actually 100% possible to win all three of those games.

Unlikely? Sure. Possible? Absofuckinglutely!
All will be revealed come May CL football was and is the target title challenge I think is just beyond us at the moment.

It certainly is in front of our expected position.
Poch, from what we've heard, was only expected to have top4 position to go into the new stadium with.

Yes please. Pointless games these

to you they might be pointless, to the national team they aren't. they are the Euro qualifiers a comp you need to win the games to reach the finals.

if you don't think England winning a major comp, or at least being involved in the final stages isn't important to the players, then I think you will be completely wrong

If you look at it realistically, in the same games last season we beat Chelsea, drew with Liverpool and only lost to City. Not to mention in the past few seasons we've gone to Juventus, Dortmund, Barca, Madrid, United, Arsenal as well and gotten results.

You can both be realistic and have faith.

International football is plain boring imo.

Club comes first by a mile. Hope we get our excuses in for the lads.

it won't happen, ask Harry Kane if he had the chance to drop out of playing for his country, would he?

I guarantee his answer will be NO

Kane is England captain. What do you think he'll choose to do? He is someone who wants to play every game, no matter the opposition or competition. After seeing England get to the WC semis (don't care about the route), playing good stuff and seeing them go to Spain and win, I have high hopes for the national side. If these were friendlies upcoming, sure I'd could sympathize, however they're Euro qualifiers and I believe we host some games. Pretty sure Southgate and his captain will want to get off to the best start in the qualifiers.

Why is there always a club v country debate? Why can't you want both to do well? Seeing our lads represent, as well as CAPTAIN and go to the forefront of English football fills me with immense pride. Kane got top scorer, Dier scored the winning penalty, all our lads scored theirs in that same shoot-out and Trippier scored an immense free kick early in the semi final.

Injuries can happen at any time, friendlies, competitive games, training, even at home. Need to stop being so safety conscious with our players. Kane got injured against United and not in the last 10 against Tranmere. Injuries happen, okay moreso lately with us, but they do. Can't stop players wanting to play every game, especially for their country. I would love to put on the England shirt, let alone captain at the World Cup.

I'm speaking for myself, the players care of course. Only football team I care about is Tottenham and to me England gamed are detrimental.

I'm stating my opinion, totally respect Harry's desire to represent and perform for his Country.

So yes I'm selfish in that respect but I think it's becoming more stale and boring with every passing year.

Does anyone really enjoy international breaks? Lol.

Everytime one is coming up, ask yourself if you had the chance for Spurs to play instead would you jump at it...

Of course you would.

Actually you don't know me, so you can't say that. England games have been tedious for years I will give you that, but I will always watch regardless as I am an English football supporter. I support both club and country. What helps now, for me personally, is several of our club's players represent the nation, and two have captained, and also the manager was born in my hometown and went to the same school I once went to. It's club and town pride for me. Helps that England have several young players coming through and play good football as well.

I'm with you. I can live with the WC finals every 4 years, the rest can fuck off.
