Not sure if serious...

yes, Im serious. I know it used to be limited to 4 thus we got screwed by Chelsea. And then it was limited to 5 so United didnt take 4s spot. As much as its been mentioned I was wondering if they'd changed the rule again.

No. The only way 4th misses out is if the CL winners (Liverpool or us) and the EL winners (Scum or Scummer) finish outside the top 4.

Like I said - we should change the title... 3rd is wrapped up. No matter how shit we will be in the last two games, the others are worse.
Are you sure? Have you seen the others last two matches? As bad as they have been playing they look like 6 points for them to me. So we have to win at least one of our games and then it doesn't matter what the others do we are in CL.

The only one I'd be confident of winning their last 2 games is United in which case 1 point does it for us. Chelsea could well lose at Leicester and can you honestly see Arsenal beating Burnley at Turf Moor?!

Maximum of 5 Prem teams in the CL, with 4th missing out only if English teams finishing outside of the top 4 win the CL and the EL.

If we finish top 4 we’ll definitely qualify, as Liverpool are the only other team that can win the CL, and they can’t finish outside of the top 4.

However, if we win the CL and let’s say it finishes City, Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Spurs, and Chelsea, with Chelsea winning the EL, Arsenal miss out at the expense of us and Chelsea.

Ok I'm sorry but how the fuck are there STILL people who don't know that the rules changed with regards to the number of teams from one country now being able to play in the CL. It changed at least 5 years ago.

The Premiership changed its name to the Premier League about 12 years ago and a lot of people haven't got the hang of that yet.

What hope do they have of understanding the rules?

because sometimes the rules change again.
I swear it has got asked several times a day on this forum, especially in this very thread. 3rd and 4th BOTH get group stages regardless of whoever wins the Europa out of Arsenal and Chelsea if either do in fact win it.

Question I have which will come 1st, we win a trophy or stop discussing whether 4th place gets you CL? I think it must have been answered every 3 or 4 pages for the last few more months on this thread. I guess people are so traumatized by the Chelsea shafting they can’t accept it.

United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all had major problems this season. I really hope we take the hint that they're unlikely to be this bad next season and that we strengthen a lot this summer.

You're right... But we do hear that literally every summer

There can only be a maximum of 5 teams in the CL from one country, and cup winners take precedence over 4th place. So, if we and Chelsea/Arse win the CL and EL, but finish 5/6, the 4th place team would drop out. That's as far as I can tell, the only scenerio where 4th would not get CL. And, since that can only occur if we finish 5/6, in that case we couldn't drop out as 4th. So 4th is automatic CL for us.
On the other hand, if we royally screw up in the league, yet win the CL, and e.g. Chelsea win the EL and finish out of the top 4, that would knock the 4th team out. Which would be Arse in that scenerio :) By the same token, Arse could knock out Chelsea in the inverse situation. It's just a shame that there isn't any situation where they could both knock each other out.

One perverse side of me would like to see Arse/Chelsea win the EL (but only if we were to win the CL). And, assuming City win the league, that would be 3 (possibly 4, if City were to - unlikely - lose the FA cup) English teams with major trophies. But not Liverpool. That would just be so satisfying, considering how the press has been in sheer ecstasy all year long about "Klopp's Geniuses", "the amazing and awesome and basically demi-godlike Liverpool", etc., to take some of the milder praise, that they would finish as the 4th most successful team in the league. No one will care in a few years how many points they got. Finishing 2nd or 4th will look about the same. They would forever be remembered, if at all, as Klopp's Flops.

However if Watford win the FA Cup and we don’t beat Ajax by at least 3 clear goals, we’ll be knocked back into the Intertoto cup

Let's be clear. If we finish 4th, but Arsenal win the EL, and Stoke get in via the fair play route - we miss out on the Intertoto, right?
