I don’t post much but just need to let this out in public in the hope it makes me feel better...

This is f***ing tortuous!!! I love you spurs but I bloody hate you too. Dot Cotton’s been let down less times by Nasty Nick thank I have by you...But of course I will forgive you again in time.

Next Wednesday will be the biggest night of Spurs related football in my lifetime yet, at the time of writing, here I am debating whether to even tune in. How is that even possible!

I would normally agree with the now famous quote “the result is never the most important thing” - it is only a game after all. But today has left me completely stunned, it’s one of the few days where a result has left me in a proper foul mood (although 3 glasses of wine later I do feel much better now compared to 2.30pm).

It’s shaping up to be a repeat of the Leicester season all over again, but worse. On the final day of that season it was only bragging rights we were playing for; the stakes are so much higher this time around.

I wouldn’t put it past us to do something special against Ajax - and maybe we will still squeak a top 4 spot too- but we make *such* bloody hard work of everything. I really can’t wait for 6pm next Sunday, one way or another I’ll be put out of my misery.

And breathe...

No Kane or Son for the game at Everton and you really do wonder where the goals are going to come from. Eriksen has been a passenger for a while imo and Dele is struggling to. Just hope somehow we can use home advantage to get over the line.

Yes, this is a key point for me too! Very strange that this has gone on for so long. It’s so obvious that we put ourselves in difficult positions because of our approach!

The pressing game from a few years back is totally gone these days. Wonder if it’s because Poch wants us to play differently or he feels we lack the types to play it out with success?

no its because he knows we are physically and mentally shattered from the start of the season, and because of all the injuries we have had this season, we haven't been able to go hard with the press.

funny thing is we started fast v Southampton, and Bournemouth but both keepers had good games. our away form has been poor, but home since we moved in in the league is P4 - W3 - D0 - L1 F7 - A1 - PTS 9 - GD +6 and we are at home for the last game

The only positive I am thinking about is if you offered me:

Everton H
Leicester A
Burnley A

Pick one to be your final game in which you need to most likely win to get top 4, every time I would pick Everton. Lets not forget the others have all been poor away from home too. The only worry is United for me, we need at least a draw against Everton but we should win.

That last home game needs to be the same atmosphere as it was against city.

We need to be the 12th man and try and push the boys over the line.

Oh Spurs why do you do it to us all the time. This has been going on way too long!

I hear what you're saying but I don't think you can separate the "abject performances over the last few months" from the lack of investment. One followed directly from the other.

There was no club in England who had to deal with more fatigue and less preseason preparation as a result of the World Cup. We knew -- had known for multiple transfer windows leading up to the summer -- that Wanyama, Lamela, and Dembele were crocked. Kane's ankles have been a concern for years. Son was always going to miss two months of the season on international duty.

Despite all of that being known in the summer, we didn't supply Poch with a squad that was sufficient to enable to him to rotate at all in key areas. The season-long injury crisis can't be put down to chance when the players are being overworked. The players are absolutely out on their feet, with no hope of being able to harry and press the way Poch wants them to. It's no coincidence that we've run out of steam, and the ultimate responsibility lies with the failure to recruit appropriately.

Well said...

It’s always darkest before the dawn. Have a feeling Dele will score the winner on Wednesday and Tripps will score the winning free kick on Sat. Also have a feeling I’m going to see a lot of rainbows at the end of this message.
dawn won't come as the son was suspended due to a red card:whistle:

I’d normally agree but you have to take into consideration our form. It’s terrible and we’ve no goal scorers in the team or none in form anyway. Unless Kane is back of course. We might need to push him to be if he’s running in the gym last week. Get him involved in some contact tomorrow and see how he holds up.

I'll be amazed if Arsenal don't find a way to win at Burnley after today's result. It's got Fulop-at-WBA-2012 written all over it for me, we'll probably see a normally solid defender like Tarkowski putting backpasses short and gifting the scum a goal or two. :grumpy:

How come?
As was pointed out to me yesterday even though it's a shite sending off the FA will say that Pawson is within his right - the letter of the law.

I don't agree with it, I think it was his doing personally but thems the breaks.

Plus don't you think we've had enough with the FA, especially in the final third of this season? Since Poch showed Dean up to the be **** he is we've had barely a thing go for us.

Is what it is.

No mistake made. He lashed out at a player in an aggressive manner. Even if you don’t normally see red for that, no way it gets rescinded

Oh yeah I understand it wouldn't get rescinded... But didn't you use to be able to appeal and have the player available for the next game, but if deemed and unsuccessful and frivioulous risk a bigger ban?
