We could but On what grounds? He pushes the guy in an over physical way, no chance It getting over turned.
If you appeal for sake of appeal and loose they add extra game I believe.

Yeah, but crucially he'd be available for Everton if the appeal was being considered. Even if we have no hope and risk a greater ban its worth it if he's available for Everton.

So the question is do we have a right to appeal it no matter the chances of success?

Because if we can it's a no brainer.

It would mean him missing 4 games at the start of next season, ad would get an extra game ban on top for appealing it and not being overturned I think.

Would be our luck we appeal and then get arsenal or Liverpool 4 the game next season and lose him for that game also.

I think they tend to turn around appeal decisions in whatever timeframe they need to to make a decision before the player would otherwise start their suspension, if I recall correctly. I think we'll get their verdict (likely a harsher ban for a frivolous appeal) well before the Everton match if we try to game the system.

Absolutely if that where possible it would be a no brainier. Have a feeling that only an option when they are charged with misconduct (something not dealt with in game for example) and given option to accept or appeal.

It would be totally worth it though. He can get an extended rest and come back really rejuvenated.

Much more important he's available for Everton - if there's any chance of appealing.

Didn't it use to be that the player would be available for the next game though? As the appeals always took a week or so to review it.... That's how Ive always remembered it. Slow process etc

Son and Foyth won’t be missing 3 games for those sending offs though surely?

Just one I’d of thought if there’s any common sense.

They don't add games to bans any more

Son won’t be overturned. I think he just means to push him on the chest, but his hand sort slips up his body and does strike him in the face. Although it’s pretty much handbags and Lerma certainly makes most of it.

On another note if you look at the last 3 PL games. City we actually played very well and were unlucky. West Ham was very flat but you can excuse it with Ajax coming 3 days later. And yesterday we were dominating till the sending off. It’s not like we are playing appallingly and getting smashed 3 or 4 every game. Can’t say I’m supremely confident about Everton. But I’d still rather be in our position than any of the other 3. And should we get through on Wednesday the mood will feel very different.

I don't think so. Just done some Googling and the first relevant results I can find are for Wes Brown appealing against a red he picked up for Sunderland in 2013.

- Red was issued on Sat 23/11/13
- Sunderland appealed on Mon 25/11/13, with the deadline for appeal being 1pm on Tues 26/11/13 (see https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/so...-appeal-wes-brown-red-card-1.1606819?mode=amp)
- FA made their decision (in this case, to rescind) by 4pm on Tues 26/11/13, turning round their decision process within 1 day of the appeal (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/f...appeal-against-sending-off-at-Stoke-City.html)

Based on those timelines, it looks like we should only try to appeal Son's red card if we think we'd win the appeal (which doesn't seem likely) rather than lodge an appeal to try and slow down the suspension process until after the Everton game.

Of course in the days before Levy we wouldn't be discussing a top 4 finish and worrying about CL or EL . It was a nice and simple mid table finish no problem getting a match ticket or just walk in and pick your season ticket seat it was so lovely in the good old days.
League positions before Levy , 8 ; 15 ; 7 ; 8 ; 10 ; 14 ; 11 ; 10 , if only we could go back to those days then we wouldn't be suffering seizures and loss of hair.

Not to sound like I'm resigned to it already (ahem) but anyone think a season in Europa might be good for us? Use our experienced players to go deep into it, blood the hungry new guys we get. Develop that Leicester season vibe (OK, 3rd in a 3 horse race but you get my drift)? We were young and buying into Poch Ball. Seems a long time ago.

People talk like it will the end of the world in terms of club finances but it is very nearly a reality, one which we will have to deal with if it comes to pass.

Ummm yes, because they are trying to qualify for the same European competition that i think we'll be competing in next season.

Ummm they can’t finish above Wolves, and if for some reason 8th place can get EL qualification Leicester would still have something to play for.

Absolutely not! Playing Thursday, then Sunday every week, travelling to the arse end of nowhere, extra games in a dog shit competition. No thank you!

In terms of pulling a Leicester, this league is a different animal now without a city and Liverpool in it and we have a lot of work to do to bridge the current gap to those two teams.

We absolutely have to be playing CL football in that shiny stadium next season.

I think for us with our new stadium the Europa League couldn’t have come at a worse time. On the commercial side we’ll have less pulling power. We still don’t have a stadium sponsor for example. In addition, Thursday night games are a drain IMO. Arsenal fell out of the top 4 and have struggled to get back in and I think one of the reasons is the awful Thursday night Europa/ Sunday premiership fixture cycle.

7th is the lowest position with what ever permutation for a EL position. Everton's boat has sailed. Wolves look good for it, but mathematically Leicester can still get it.
