Not worried about his height. Same height as Klibsmann and half and inch shorter than Sheringham, two amazing headers of the ball.

thats the type of exciting business I'd love to see us making this summer.

I have a feeling Leandro will stay in Brazil and may have bigger fish after him than us in the near future and I really don't think we will be seeing Falcao in a Spurs shirt next season.

I do hope so, or at least I hope we make moves of similar stature.

I agree.

Mainly because I don't want a big let down on deadline day.

I really hope he joins us, £26mil is a lot but still that's considerably less than £40mil+ for Aguero. Which means we can get two player for price of 1.

I got a feeling Arsenal will snatch him of us due to their CL position, but hope Falcao come to his senses and realises Arsenal never win anything, their players are disloyal and even if they get in CL they won't win it and their players fail to deliver in important games. Falcao better of joining us, be our talisman and beat Arsenal to 4th next year .

I think it is highly unlikely Falcao will move this summer, and his agent is merely pushing Porto for a better contract offer.

I am not totally sold on Falcao. No doubt he's a top class goal poacher etc but playing so being top scorer in the Portuguese league, which I'd say in on pair with the Eredivisie I'd say (or even the Euro league) is different than from scoring in the EPL or La Liga.
Remember how Kezman scored buckets of goals for PSV but totally failed at Chelski or Mari Jardel who from 1996-2000 scored 130 goals in 125 games for Porto yet failed to score at Bolton.
It doesn't mean a player isn't class if he can't make it in the EPL (there may be good English EPL players who wouldn't make it in an over seas league as well) but I have my reservations about Falcao being Spurs' lone striker. It might be that the system at Porto simply fits Falcao perfectly and at Spurs he'd have to adjust to another style and "rougher" style of football and playing a (at least a sligthly) different role.
And although I am not totally convinced about Hulk either (I have just watched them, Hulk & Falcao, occasionally, which isn't enough to evaluate players enough to decided on splashing out £15-18m... if I was the one who had the final word ) but he looks stronger and better at shielding the ball than Falcao.

Jimmy floyd hasslebank came from the Portuguese league and was great straight away in the premiership. Ok that Was one player but I suppose I'm saying it can happen.

I share your concern About sPending that amount on a player who may not do it for us. My thoughts are he is 25 and why are we only hearing about him so much now? Again there are answers I'm sure to that which somebody on here may well know but until then I will have my doubts. I like leandro more from what I have seen anyway

The thing is, Falcao scores against the good teams in Europe as well, and regardless of the standard of the defending, you can see just by watching him that his movement is phenomenol. It's always going to be a risk, but the example of Jardel is unfair because he had gone of the rails by the time he got to Bolton, hence Sporting were happy to take a 10 million cut on him in only two years since buying him from Galatasaray (who he also scored a shedload for). My suspicion is that if he had joined United five years earlier, instead of Van Nistelrooy for example, he would have been an absolute goal machine. It's Falcao's style of play which makes me think he'd be great for us, he also hits the corners, something which will translate into any league.

Think that's a bit harsh on Jardel given that he only played 7 games for Bolton. He injured his knee shortly before joining them and by all accounts never recovered well from this injury.

As for Kezman, yes true, but then there's: Romario, Ronaldo, van Nistelrooy and for Ajax players like: Ibrahimovic, Kluivert, Bergkamp, van Basten and Van der Vaart.

BUT i do think paying more than £20m for Falcao is a big risk for us.

I was worried because he isn't that quick, isn't especially strong, and where his headering is phenomenal, I don't think he is favourite if the ball goes up for a 50/50.

That said I think his game is more movement and being in the right place at the right time, Pippo Inzaghi has made a very successful career of this, van Nistelrooy was a big guy but not a bullying striker by any means, the same can be said for Crespo and to an extent Batistuta as well.

Not sure if Falcao is "the one" to play up top on his own unless the two wide men come inside and score goals aswell and take the pressure off him.

I think it would represent the best we can hope in the window if we signed Falcao, personally I think he may stay to have a crack at CL with Villas-Boas and Porto if a big CL team doesn't come in.

We don't need someone quick per say, we need a finisher and he looks the part. We have enough pace wide and create a lot of chances. His movement is fantastic, could see him doing very well. Would still like a 'Big man' too...time will tell, at least there's heavy links early!

Looks strong as a bull to me and no slower then Tevez or Rooney who both have produced their best as long strikers.

As for wingers cutting in, Bale actually does cut in a lot despite playing on the left, and still using his left foot. Most of his goals are cutting in from the left bur keeping the ball on his left. You don't need to play on your wrong foot to cut in. Look at Suarez from the right for instance.

I'm really starting to hate PSV for selling Kezman to Chelsea lol, every single time a player from the Eredivisie is linked you'll always hear "but what about/do you remember Kezman?".

I'd love us to sign Falcao but I think rumors are too good to be true.

I honestly believe he is one of the best in the game potentially ever for heading the ball. He comes deep when needed to and has the creative ability as well as the instinct for finding the net.

Although fair enough Dzeko has been pretty poor for Citeh so far I think that Falcao is a type of player similar to Dzeko but has better attributes for most things that Dzeko is known for.

If we sign Falcao I'l be donating to SC anyway.
