Some people on here are already having a dig at Juande Ramos and his team formations and substitutions.

The fact is that this man should be judged on next season once he has got rid of all the dead wood.

I think Ramos is a better choice than Jol.

Give him more than a chance please. :hump:

Keep an eye on Poyet too - he is definitely not going to hang around as a number two.

I don't think there is any reason to worry about him yet. Yeah he got it badly wrong today but give him a couple of seasons with a team of his vision before judging too much.

he got it spot on tactically in a cup final, when it really mattered. its never nice to get stuffed at home, especially to a side managed by crazy Keegan. But Juande could go and manage anywhere in Europe he is that good and next season we will see a different tottenham

I'm prepared to give Ramos time but when he plays so many players out of position in a new formation and then compounds it with substitutions that weaken even that line-up I think I'm entitled to question what the hell he's doing.

Let him give the players tryouts and see if he can use them next season......or they're out.

I have total faith in Ramos!!

Yes, but that was always going to be the downside with appointing Ramos. He was going to want to rip up the blueprint and start again, which would mean going backward to go forward.

Last season we finished fifth in the League and had impressive runs in all three cups. We should have kicked on from there. If Jol was not the man for the job, the Board should have found someone capable of realising the potential in the squad we had. How have we got ourselves into a position where we need to replace almost our entire first team? It is like the last four years never happened.

It's better having a crazy Juande now rather than next season. I think he's experimenting with formations, trying out different players in different positions, testing players to see who is worth keeping. He might as well evaluate what and who works as much as possible before the season ends. Who knows, he might find someone in the hidden in the squad that's worth a damn. Who would have thought O'Hara would have been where he is now?

We are safe in his hands. Like a new born baby in the arms of his/her mother. Like Anthony Warrell Thompson with a peice of the freshest, tenderest fillet steak and a piping hot pan with just a little oil. Like a builder with a brick, and an IT Technician and a Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI Motherboard.

I'm pretty sure I could have picked and managed a team today that would have got a better result than Ramos. There was no real radical changes, albeit trying to accomodate three strikers. If we are going to be ruthless and disregard the so called deadwood then it will be goodbye

Mr Robinson - Moves like a oil tanker and creates an air of panic whenever the ball is played into our penalty box. A fucking great big liability.
Mr Dawson - Competant, but not outstanding. He appears to have stalled in his development or reached his full potential
Mr O'Hara - Does not have the pace, guile or technique to hold down a place in a top 4/5 team. He is getting games based on the fact, he's the only left footer available
Mr Chimbonda - lacks concentration and appears to rate himself highly
Mr Huddlestone - Great technique, but asbysmal when we don't have the ball. His obvious lack of mobilty will prevent him from being a fabulous player
Mr Tainio - AKA Mr Average.
Mr Malbranque - Works hard, but has to, as his lack of pace and one footness restricts his contribution. Squad player at best
Mr Lennon - Great pace, but lacks awareness and strength.

There are couple of others that I'm not quite sure are good enough to help us break into the top 4, but I'm prepared to give them another season to see if they push on - Keane, Zokora and Bent.

The obvious quality are King, Berbatov, Woodgate and Hutton. I hope I can add Bale to this list next year.

Agreed BOF.

I am continuing to question why Lee is left out and Chimbonda, O'Hara and Tainio have all played at LB ahead of him with poor results.

People underestimated Lee, it's no coincedence that Malbranque is half the player he was with Lee supporting him.

Ramos probably has around an 80% success rate in his tactical changes since joining us. He has outcoached pretty much every opponent he's come up against - including making Toad of Toad Hall look like the clueless classless buffoon he is twice this season.

Today, Ramos wanted to see if the current squad could play a diamond. And he found out they couldn't. He also discovered that some players didn't show much heart or grit.

Ignoring the (rubbish) source for the moment, I suspect it's correct that Ramos had told Levy & Commoli that he will listen to offers for all but five (plus Bale) of our players in the summer. And today's performance simply reinforces that view.

My bottom line is that with his squad of players, and a display of heart and commitment from all of them, as a gamecoach Ramos is as good as anyone in the EPL. If the players aren't doing it, and aren't prepared to play for the team and make intelligent decisions (eg Taarabt) then he will make changes.
