We have a good young progressing team...MoPo is developing them and if we keep them together and just tweak and add to the first team, we will keep progressing and can go along way in the near future.
Today, I liked the mentality...bravery...movements...organization...the desire to win was present! We fought for the ball!
We still make silly mistakes but we were up for it and it's a great start to 2015.
Dembele did well when he came on.
Kane is superb! WHL is buzzing 'again' with this young man
Chadli and Bentaleb was fantastic.
Vert played really well in defense and his partner did well except for the silly mistake.
Eriksen is very good
Lloris is probably one of the best and i'm glad he is a Spurs player
These players stood out for me but a great team effort too
Impress with MoPo too...he is slowly winning me over. Two great performance: Draw against Man U and Win against Chelsea!

Amazing result. Would have taken a point before kick off.

For the first time in months I am going to watch MOTD tonight!

Kane was phenomenal. I honestly cannot believe how much he has developed since I first saw him play. Held it up brilliantly, was clever, linked play and finished like a £30m striker. Wonderful.

Chadli was also excellent and Lloris is a match winner. I remember when we signed him someone on here dug up a quote from a Lyon fan saying that he would earn us an additional 10-15 points a season with his heroics. He's probably already done that this season. World class and a worthy captain.

Unbelievable progress over the past month!

Chadli edged MOM for me as he was productive with everything he did but he and Kane were 10/10!

I am surprised people disappointed with Eriksen he started something positive nearly every time he had the ball!

Bentaleb was good also, loved the passion! Did you see him give it to Fabregas when he was trying to influence the ref!

Give me a team with that passion and starting with 4 players from the academy any day!

Lloris - 7 - Calmness in his box, sensible distribution and one essential save.

Fazio - 6.5 - Loses a point for the daft and totally avoidable dribble that led to the 2nd Chelsea goal - his first severe mental lapse in 3 games - but otherwise powerful and effective - handled Diego Costa pretty wall.

Walker - 7 - Gigantic determination and desire when we were protecting our lead.

Vertonghen - 8 - A very composed performance, yet not lacking in urgency or commitment.

Rose - 6.5 - Loses a half point for being so indecisive and letting Hazard past him; Hazard is nearly impossible to mark, but you have to bloody try. Otherwise, he was very good in attack, dynamic and effective.

Mason - 7 - Looking very good before his injury - another great Lampardesque run into the box, which may have been when he hurt himself.

Bentaleb - 8 - After a few shaky games, Bentaleb goes out there at 20 and passes his way around Chelsea's multi-million midfield - involved in everything, because he had to be.

Eriksen - 7.5 - Quiet for some stretches of the game, but ruthless when he finally saw some space, especially the run that set up our second goal.

Chadli - 9.5 - Great difficulty in choosing a MotM between Nacer and Harry - this was a huge step up in class from Chadli and there were times when he looked a world-class player out there: feints, swerving dribbles, canny passes, shots, ending with assists and a goal.

Townsend - 6 - Plenty of energy, but sometimes woeful judgment - played his part. Good penalty.

Kane - 10 - Everything about his game was wonderful, but what was also important was how he single-handedly dragged us back from 1 down and an impending replay of the game at Stamford Bridge, when we also started so well, conceded a goal and then lost our way. There he was, prowling across the edge of the final third - and if no one was going to help him out, he was going to wait until he saw a gap (which is exactly what he was doing) and then put it in the corner. Harry Kane has mental strength. He is cool: his judgment does not disappear and his technique does not desert him in pressure situations. He gave Cahill and Terry absolute nightmares for 90 minutes and he led us from the front. Last Autumn, it was 'ah, but he's only scoring in the Europa League'; then it was 'ah, but he's only scoring against relegation fodder'. Now he inspires the whole team into thrashing the league leaders. A star is born.

Dembélé - 7 - I was rather hoping he would get a start today and he showed why - there are signs that Pochettino is working on Dembélé, gradually getting him to be more adventurous and to release the ball earlier. If he can do that, Mousa could finally become the player of his potential.

Davies - 6.5 - A sensible substitution who played sensibly.

Paulinho - 7 - As with Dembélé, there are signs that Paulinho is adapting his game to what the coach wants from him. He played a capable containing game, yet still helped us to get forward and keep the ball there when we had the chance, which was essential after Chelsea's 3rd goal.

It was all about mental strength. The way everyone harried and pressed and threw themselves at the ball in the closing stages showed how much this result meant to them all, to the team and to the team's sense of itself. It was the opposite of what has been depressing us so much over the past two and a half years, more so since Bale left. I haven't felt like this after a match since we were in the Champions League.

Everyone was strong IMO. But I have to give credit to Bentaleb. I have been on his case for the past month or so, and he turned in a real performance today.

Removed his errant passes, put in more tackles than we are used to seeing and most importantly played with some ferocity.

lloris - 7 - great save from azpilicueta. was composed and safe as usual. couldn't have done much for any of the goals

walker - 5 - poor i thought. lost possession easily and regularly, couple of brainfarts too with balls across the back to chelsea players

fazio - 6 - did well apart from the hazard goal. great in the air and calm on the deck for the most part

vertonghen - 7 - good game. showed passion and guts! good on the ball and made some good interceptions and blocks

rose - 6 - much the same as walker but slightly better. did well to get up for the goal but his positioning and effort leave a lot to be desired at times! terrible on the 1st goal

dembele - 8 - fantastic. such composure, a great outlet for keeping possesion in midfield, has tremendous strength and used this in possession and in harrying chelsea players today. fantastic game

bentaleb - 7 - good game. a bit more incisive than usual, decent defensively too. best game for awhile

chadli - 9 - best game for spurs! noticeably more direct, went at the full back and seemed sharper. intelligent and efficient, used his body well and contributed throughout the game

eriksen - 7 - quiet but effective. slick passing at the start of many of our moves helping to set up good situations without perhaps getting the final pass so perhaps that blinds people to how effective he was. good work rate too

townsend - 5.5 - not great. poor first touch and wasn't involved too much! got a penalty but was in no way involved in earing it although he took it well to be fair. good work rate to help out walker

kane - 9 - unreal. star in the making. has such a good all round game and made two good centre halfs look like fools today. don't think he is the type of players who will go through a bad patch tbh, even if hes not scoring he will still contribute

paulinho - 7 - did well. showed energy and was sharper on the ball than usual. done himself no harm today

davies - 6 - more secure than rose i thought, not as prominent in attack though. retains the ball better too

As soon as Soldado goes Kane should take the number 9 shirt...scoring two goals against Chelsea is confirmation that Harry Kane has come of age.

I'd prefer him to take the no.10 shirt tbh.

For the first goal, Yes. But my point is that I find it difficult to put too much blame on players who get skinned by Hazard but he's so good.

But when you know you're up against hazard the last thing you do is throw yourself half-assedly into a tackle, atleast follow him and make it hard. He was too busy signaling to the linesman i guess..

Watching in the stadium without replays and commentary again......plus I had been drinking since lunch time so my opinions may be skewed (disclaimer)

LLoris - 7 - Made a couple of very good saves and was not at fault for any of their goals

Walker - 5 - He went missing a few times positionally

Fazio - 6 -
He played very well for the bulk of the game but that lapse in concentration or causal foolish play however you want to label it lead to a goal which could have thrown away all our good work had we not responded so well. He's improving a lot but still needs to iron these mistakes out of his game

Vertonghen - 7 - Solid at the back and very classy through out with his tackles, reading of the play to make vital interceptions etc. I loved to see the passion on his face when we scored too, he seems to care about playing for the club again. The classy CB Verts of old we've sorely missed

Rose - 7- I was furious with him for their first goal, he sat back appealing for a throw in and just let Hazard run at him and then got twisted on his arse before they eventually scored. A few other times he was beaten way to easily and or out of position too. However he scored a key goal at a vital team and made several block challenges in a game to balance the poor stuff and overall his best game in a Spurs shirt for a while

Dembele - 8 - Must have been difficult coming in to the game at the time he did when it was so fast paced and end to end but he did very well and controlled the midfield in my eyes, very strong in possession and actually got us ticking when he had the ball. Great performance from the lad

Bentaleb - 7 - I thought he was great today, strong, energetic performance. A complete midfielder performance, he was solid when he needed to defend and making things happen when it was time to go forward and attack. I think all the CM players including Mason (7) before he went off controlled that area of the pitch and laid some very solid foundations for the team to pick Chelsea apart

Chadli - 8 - He was outstanding, ripped Chelsea a new one. Did not stop working all game and he ran their defense ragged. Scored one, hit the post which lead to Rose's assist and could have scored 2-3 more times. He was too hot for the Chelsea defense to handle and I wouldn't argue with anyone who selected him as their MOTM (Though he's not mine today)

Eriksen- 7 - . Maybe not his best individual performance but he worked hard and for periods of the game he ran the show, made chances and showed what a star he really is. He was too good for Chelsea

Townsend - 6 - I thought he played well first half, supported Walker well and was energetic going forward. Took his penalty well too. Second half though he started to become sloppy, his first touch became heavy and he was starting to give the ball away and allow Chelsea the initiative and he was rightfully subbed.

Kane - 9 - I'm running out of positives to say about this kid, he was outstanding today. He bullied the Chelsea defense, looked like he was going to score or make a goal for someone else everytime he attacked. He also worked so hard off the ball and chased the play back to turn over possession numerous times. He was our MOTM and today he looked like a world class striker. Not only for the goals he scored nor the chances he created, his work rate was amazing and he destroyed Chelsea. He must be the most in form player in the PL right now

Paulinho - 7 - I thought he did pretty well. I was worried when I saw he was coming on but he gave an high energy performance and did not look out of place. Gave away a couple of dangerous free kicks but all in all did the job he was asked to do

Davies - 6 - I think he shored things up defensively which was what we needed at the time, didn't do anything spectacular but he helped see the game out and as with Paulinho did the job we asked of him

Over all it was an amazing game and a great team performance, That's the type of game and performance to make people take notice even if they do focus on Chelsea playing poorly rather than us making them do so

We were much more direct and positive from the start. Shook off Chelsea pressure, rode the goal and came back like we always do (In my head). The Pochettino project gathering strength and speed. Knows his players better than we do obviously.
Lloris.........7+......Essential save when needed. French accent, beret, string of onions. The real deal.
Walker.......6.......Gets into trouble and then gets out again. Usually.
Fazio.........7.......Silly error bur played Costa pretty well.
Verts.........7+......Settling in nicely with Fazio now. More consistent and controlled.
Rose.........7-.......Point for the goal but subtracted for being dozy on the first goal.Reinstated for being an Academy goalscorer
Bentaleb...8.... .Good game. Energy and positivity. Half a point for being an Academy boy. Half a point extra for being only 20
Mason................Has a history of injuries, hope he's not doomed to repeat it.
Chadli.......8+......That's more like it . Used his strength well. Been threatening to play well for a while.
Eriksen......7+.....Quietly effective. Always looks as if he will produce something.
Kane..........9.......Saving ten for his first Prem hat-trick..Plays with the confidence of an older man. Love him.
Townsend..6.......Still not having enough impact. Confident penalty. Academy goalscorer +1.

Dembele...7+ ....Been Pochettinoed to good effect. More direct and quicker release.
Paulinho....7.......Mauricio trusts him and he did a good job.
Davies.......7.......He's no Danny Rose but most people see that as a plus. Swings and roundabouts for me.

What a start to the New Year. 7/9 over the Xmas period. Pochettino handled the squad and himself well.
Champions League is on offer. Do we have the nerve to take it? On todays performance and spirit that's a'YES'
