if we don't learn to press in units and at certain moments (perhaps a signal given) then it really does become wasted effort.
need to learn to press like defenders learn to hold the line, has to be regimented and is that important.
if you press in packs, you don't even have to apply much effort, kind of swarm over that area of the pitch. the other players have to adapt their positions accordingly to compensate for gaps outside of the pressing pack.
