We are now in the semifinals of the Carabao Cup, but it would have been a further embarrassment if we had not. We made very hard work of it so was not really impressed by how we won. I know many of you will disagree

One of the few credits (besides the goals) was Dele. Ignoring the unnecessary flicks and tricks, he reminded me of how effective he can be for the team if he applied himself. I was one of his staunchest critics so was pleasantly surprised.

Another Credit was Lamela taking over the attacking midfield and stopped the pissing about that was happening in terms of play making

Another credit in this game was our our Vice-Captain

Under Jose, that's what happens on a cold and rainy Wednesday night at Stoke.

Whilst Dele was decent first half, he was quite poor second and Lamela coming on in that ACM role made us better instantly. Thought Winks was good, nice whipped ball for the opener, even if he was probably aiming for Doherty's run - a good ball like that can cause havoc. Kane looked better once Lamela and Son were on.

Eased through the first half, They had one real chance from a defensive disaster and scored , never look under real threat even at 1-1 imo, not pretty but job done

Im giving it to Dele .... (although Hoj probably) was a great performance from him, he was almost the Dele we know and love. Didnt deserve to be taken off that early, harry w should have been the one to make way at that point.

Defensive shit show for the goal, usual liability antics from 2 of them (not Sanchez).

Doherty offers nothing, he wouldnt even get into that stoke team.

Sorry, but that's just an agenda against Winks. Assist, another key pass, 55 forward passes from 77, 9/10 accurate long balls and from defensive perspective 1 interceptions, 2 clearances, 10 possessions gained, 2/2 aerial duels won

Dele was v good in first half. But Jose is right, he has to cut out silly flicks and nutmeg attempts, especially in dangerous areas and when games finely poised. He’s 24 now.

He was decent and showed glimpse of his old self, but then at times I felt like he gave up and was wasteful with the ball.

Dele did quite well first half but that no look flick was horrendous and left us in the shit

It was a shame because he’d worked hard first half and seemed up for it

The problem is Jose will not accept the way Dele gave that ball away. It puts your side in serious trouble from a position of having a very dangerous counter attack

Jose deals in winning, % and margins and when a player does that it fucks the odds

Dele must learn under Jose or he won’t get a look in

It also doesn’t help his case that when he was substituted for Lamela we became a much much better football team

True, but that may also be down to (I can’t believe I’m saying this) Sissoko replacing Lucas.
