to my eye we always looked like we could score 3 or 4. Fresh legs helped but I think people over-read things.

Definitely had a bearing but Lamela was heavily involved in a good 5mins of play where we actually knocked it about for the first time of the entire game!

Its no agenda against him at all, if you said i ave an agenda against 2 our our defenders then yes some truth in that.

Your stats mean nothing, you can tart them to make it sound like he was outstanding, he was far from it bar the hopeful ball to the box, exactly like the way Jose tells people about the possesion stats, .... Winks display was not MOTM.

It was a fairly good match from Winks though. He was involved a lot, worked hard and did little wrong. Who else was much better? Not Dele, not Højbjerg.

Don’t disagree, but Doherty, Davies, Winks, Dele, Lucas, Bale, Sanchez, all the players SC loves to hate, started tonight, so just trying to diffuse the idea that Dele was anything other than decent tonight, even with his error.

Funnily enough, it was nigh on identical to the goal we scored in a 1-0 win at Dortmund.

Lloris -6 - felt like he could have been better positioned for their goal. Outside of that he had little to do.

Doherty - 6 - I think he needs a solid run of games to shake off some rust. Was okay going forward. Was actually decent defensively, yet their goal...
Big Dav - 6 - Speaking about short on confidence. You can see he seems so hesitant on the ball in particular. Also couldn’t prevent Fletcher from winning every header once the latter came on.
Dier - 6 - He floundered a little bit. But overall did fine enough to keep them from dangerous areas. Distribution was erratic.
Davies - 7 - He gets the extra point for a lovely goal. But overall his game today was meh.

Winks - 7.5 (mom) - Had a solid game. And showed that when he is willing he can be more progressive with the ball. Sadly seemed to lose a bit of confidence in the 2nd half.
PEH - 6 - Needs a rest. Look puddled for much of the match. But even on an average day, he still sticks to his task well.

Dele - 6 - first half was really good. thought he showed more vim and vigor than some of our other attacking players.

Bale -6 - ok. Nice goal. But just does not seem to be able to get out of 2nd gear.
Lucas - 6 - handy at times. Seemed to be more comfortable on the left. but my lord, his first touch is laughable sometimes.
Kane - 6 - speaking of needing a rest. Apart from his goal, he looked shattered and isnt playing with much intensity.

I only counted two "FFS Deles" so an approvement over normal. Sonny would have buried the two chances he fucked up though.

Agree with all those scores apart from Son’s. Thought he was quite good, had a perfectly good goal ruled out incorrectly and also set up Kane for another chance. I’d have scored him at least a 6 (compared to others).

Not giving a motm again. Don't think anyone really stood out tbh. Thought Bale,winks and Dele did well first half. One was hooked, the others might as well have been.

Our back 4 can't defend high up the pitch and tonight none of them looked assured in their role. This needs to be noted by those constantly questioning why we sit so deep. The answer is, one simple mistake by one of them and as a unit we can't recover. I'm sure he plays PEH and MD as much as he does because he doesn't trust them. I saw in the match thread multiple people questioning Doc and Sanchez for their goal. Well at least they were in view. Franz Beckendier wasn't anywhere to be seen because he was miles out of position. In a low block he's fine. Anything other than that and he struggles. I can see why Jose still wants a CB even after JR was bought in the Summer.

PEH and Kane did well enough but both below their usual standards for me.

We are through, decent draw and Lamela fit. So there are positives.

Someone on here said he was superb at half time which stuck out to me
