bearing in mind the numbers of injuries we accumulate over the season - this shouldnt be a huge issue

Lloris - 6.25 - some good saves but average distribution
Walker - 6.5 - OK first half; competent winger second. Not a visionary but does what he's told and is indefatigable.
Dawson - 7.0 - thought he had his best game of the season.
Chiriches - 6.5 - good footballer but seems to me to be a bit flimsy for a CB - witness Bony flattening him, which wasn't a foul leave alone a card.
Rose - 5.5 - squad player - need an upgrade.
Lennon - 5.5 ditto.
Eriksen - 8.25 - that's a footballer - love it.
Bentaleb - 7.0 - weak first half, although that may have been down to instructions - controlled DM area second half.
Dembele - 7.25 - nice player, beats his man every time, doesn't do much with it.
Chadli - 6.75 - competent but uninspiring.
Adebayor - 9.0 - worked his arse off, scored two - among the best players in the EPL.

Sherwood - 8.0 - good selection, good subs, clearly getting his team caring.

Lloris made a couple of routine saves, was assured dealing with balls into the box, no complaints.

Walker was fine in both directions, tireless as ever too.

Dawson had a moment of madness when he dove into a tackle in midfield, missed, and left our entire back line exposed as a result. Fine otherwise, especially in the air.

Chiriches, one weak first half moment when Bony left him on the ground, played well with his usual array of good tackles and interceptions. Played the pass of the match too but Adebayor wasn't wuite quick enough off the mark. Not sure why @boris is criticising him for being clattered with a full speed launched forehead into his face, I'd like to see anyone here stand up to that. Accidental it may have been, but Bony mistimed that and hit him at speed. Yellow card was fair.

Rose just has too many moments where we're being attacked and I think 'where is our left back?'. Some good tackles though and generally okay defensively, though, assist aside, he is our worst player on the ball.

Lennon worked hard and was visibly knocked when he came off, he linked well and was great in the move for our opener. Let down by his execution a few times though.

Bentaleb was constantly involved in an unremarkable way, but the passes he makes are subtly driving us forward and making space. Not explosive, but on his second premiership start and at a young age there's every reason to be expectant with him.

Dembele went about his role with minimum fuss. Like his midfield partner, he was unspectacular, and really should have played in Adebayor for the tap in after a great move, but he was instrumental in our composed performances.

Eriksen was great. Drifting in from the left and linking play all over, with real end product, and playing with confidence and maturity. Fast becoming a key player and is our best creative outlet at the moment.

Chadli was full of effort and tried the right things mostly, but didn't pull them off. There's just something awfully laborious about his game which seems to inhibit him.

Adebayor was our best player. Two good goals, linked play brilliantly, worked tirelessly and, when we started poorly, was dragging our team up the pitch almost by himself. This is Adebayor the warrior to whom Sherwood referred, and long may he remain.

Naughton came on to shore up that side and was steady, which is what he needed to be.

Siggurdsson was a like for like substitution for Chadli and was involved in play a lot in his short time on the pitch.

Lennon really is a worry.
With Walcott injured and an opportunity to really give it everything to force his way into the World Cup squad,he plays like that.
Compare his attitude to Adam Johnson who is absolutely busting a gut to go.

Must be a real kick in the nuts to be subbed by a right back...thats how bad he was.

Not much to add to general drift .

The pass from the byline by Walker (7) for our second goal , the own goal , was very poor and not in the direction of any Spurs players . He'd be getting grief for a major blunder if it hadn't hit the full back and gone in .

We luv an intelligent sub on here and we got one (Tim 8) , we also luv a skillful player and we got one Eriksen 8.5 MoM
At last someone is snapping in seriously dangerous crosses .

Ade (8.5) at full throttle is quite something...long may it last .

City match will show us how far we've improved .

Lloris - 6 Decent save didnt have too much to do
Walker - 6.5 Did ok missed an easy pass (imo) a la Rose to Ade for the third and fucked it but energy levels are huge.
Dawson - 6.5 - Nice through ball to Walker for the second did ok
Chiriches - 7 - Did well imo but looks shaky at times think hell be better moved across to the right side when Verts is back.
Rose - 6 - Did ok found the through ball for the third, terrible shot
Lennon - 6 lost his attacking mojo for me seems off the pace a little but works hard.
Eriksen - 8.5 MOM for me, was the player that stood out for us in the first half tried to make things happen.
Bentaleb - 7.0 - Very good second half, bit anonymous in the first
Dembele - 6.5 - Think hes a great player but wasnt too great in this one.
Chadli - 6 - hmm missed a pretty strightforward chance to at least test the keeper not sure he took his chance.
Adebayor - 8.5 - worked hard and is on fire right now but all his gesticulating will piss the rest of the team off eventually
Sherwood - 8.0 - Showed he can be flexible and may be a decent man manager time will tell eh.

Bony owned him whole game. He's a tidy player but at under six foot pretty lightweight for a centre back. Yellow card was unfair - look at it again.

I agree the yellow card was unfair, but on yesterdays performance Bony could boss plenty of top CBs.

Possibly our best performance of the season. I expected Swansea to make a strong start and they didn't disappoint. I was thinking that if we could see out the first twenty minutes, turned out to be thirty, we'd get a grip of the game and get on top - which we duly did.

After we went one nil up we improved all over the pitch. Our pressing and work rate was good, Bentaleb made some crucial interceptions and I lost count of the number of tackles he made. Quietly very effective indeed. Dembele and Eriksen worked hard to and I'm loving the latter's movement...he just drifts into great positions constantly - great footballing intelligence.

Swansea keep possession very well but its almost like they forget to ram it up a level in the final third, they lack punch where it counts even though Bony had a good game. In truth we should of won by more and I still want to see us be more ruthless.

Sherwood got his set up and tactics spot on. Great work rate, and our pressing disrupted their passing rhythm and we were devastating on the counter. He answered his critics in emphatic style and if he can tweak and alter his tactics/set up according to the specific game, as they represent varying challenges, we could be in serious business.

Lloris 6.5 Not that much to do, but anything he had to do - he did with not much fuss.

Walker 6.5 Crossing was poor, and ironically that gave us our second. Overall he was decent.

Dawson 6.5 Thought he was pretty good, lovely ball for our second goal - half a mark off for nearly conceding a pen.

Vlad 7 Good game. Nearly had a gorgeous assist that would of gave Ade a sure hatrick, what a ball that was.

Rose 6 Did well to find Ade on the break for our third. needs to show composure like that more often. Think he could of cleared the ball for their goal. Bit of a mixed bag IMO.

Bentaleb 7.5 quietly very effective. Interceptions, tackles and passed efficiently. I think he made more tackles than anyone on the pitch yesterday. All round this was a very assured and encouraging midfield performance.

Dembele 7 worked hard, passed it well. Got forward to great affect to only spurn a great chance. Thankfully it didn't cost us but he should of squared it to Adebayor.

Lennon 6 Involved in the build up for our first goal and generally worked hard. But his touch and passing were poor, not a great day for him in offensive situations. Would of been a five, but the effort was their in work rate and he did play a part for our opening goal.

Eriksen 8 His movement is so impressive, just glides into great positions. Great first time cross for the first goal, involved in the build up for the third and was generally linking up most of our play. Worked hard to. Very good game.

Chadli 6 A conservative performance. Not much in terms of contributing offensively, failed to get one good chance on target. Worked hard enough and doesn't give the ball away much. I'm sure we'll see more from him in time.

Adebayor 8.5 MOTM Two very well taken goals, worked ever so hard for the team. Held it up, ran the channels and was everywhere in the second half. A really good effort and loved it when he held off Chico to earn a free kick. He's unplayable when he puts in that amount of effort. Sky's the limit, for him and us, when he's in this mood.

A very AVB-like performance I thought, which seems to have been lost on most.

We set up in exactly the way AVB would have done/did.

A very solid away performance again, although the critic in me looks at another stupid goal we have conceded.

Adebayor will no doubt get the plaudits, but I thought Eriksen was the one that just made everything work so he gets my vote for MOTM.

His ball in for the first goal was ridiculously good, even Gregorz Raziak would have put that away. Then that turn just before half time was beyond sublime.

He is going to be some player for us.

Watching Adebayor getting his head on crosses swung in from the flank was just like watching the good old AvB days.

Rose - 4
Dawson - 4
Azza - 4
Walker - 5
Chadli - 5
Dembelay - 6
Lloris, Eriksen, Nabil, Vlad - 7.5
Ade - 8.5 - Not great in the first 1/4 - world class for 3/4]

For those who think Dawson "did ok", I urge you to watch the 90mins again.

I thought our best passage of play was the 15 minutes after half time when we were absolutely dominant and should have been 3-0. We didn't press aimlessly, we had a strategy which was obviously to get at them straight at the kick off and not sit back, which worked a treat.

First 20 we weren't really with it, and although Laudrup made the almost "we were unlucky" point with saying we scored with our first shot, for all their possession they didn't really threaten much from closer than 20 yards. Obviously Bony's rasping drive that rattled the bar was close enough, but I still thought at half time we were worth the advantage.

Was impressed that we had a plan, and seemed to make it work, even with not everyone having what you would constitute a good game. Lennon was disappointing, as was Chadli, and I thought the CB's struggled with the runs from deep to start with but that's where having a brilliant sweeper keeper in Lloris really comes in handy.

Not going to be arsed with individual ramblings, MOTM was a split between Adebayor and Eriksen-sen-sen.

Tim needs to work on dominating the entire 90mins of every game we play, not just 75%, in order to win me over. Otherwise its only a matter of time before we suffer another 'Palace' performance where we werent the best team for a half.

Whilst I agree that it was harsh, and it wasn't intentional, the commentators were making the point about intent in that predicament being the key factor for receiving a booking. I disagreed (not in person). Dangerous play should carry a booking, and that doesn't have to be corroborated by intent. Not saying this was necessarily the case with Bony, but charging into a header, at that height and then connecting with Chiriches' face could be construed as dangerous play. Bony had no idea where Chiriches was, yet went in very strongly. Its a bit chicken and egg though. Ramsey's injury was similar. Shawcross got sent off for it which was 'harsh' in some quarters, however he went into a tackle strongly which resulted in Ramsey's leg being snapped in two (or three). Dangerous play.
