I know Eriksen is one of our best players, but his recent performances have been truly awful and he is hardly been criticised compared to the likes of Chadli and Townsend.
Yes but the boy's a class above.
So even when he's bad he still quite good,
Played poorly by his standards in the last two.
Chadli is a bit hit and miss lately
Townsend is more miss than hit most of the time.

Apart from not tackling, or passing well, or doing anything productive.

As much as I like Eriksen (hence avatar), I've been annoyed how much he's relied on his free kicks to get him by this last few months, and now that we've not had many from scoring positions, he's shown how much of a waste of a position he can be.

Some blame where he's being played, but he's been in the centre and on the left and still been poor. No different to the most of the players, but he should by no means get a "free pass" from his part in our crappy play.

Shouldn't judge a play by just his assists, but he's had 2 all season in the PL and he's played in every game.

Played poorly by anyones standard not just his. He has been terrible and it seems to have gone under the radar because Chadli and Townsend have been just as bad. Thing is I dont expect as much with Chadli and Townsend but Eriksen I do and he has been awful, deserves to be dropped just as much as any of the 3 behind Kane.

@Chris12 & @225

I have been very critical of the lack of final creative moments from Eriksen, his inability to actually create clear quality chances, I've seen him try and fail continually. It's disappointing. And he should have been rested in the last couple of months, playing him in the Fiorentina away game for example was daft.

But he is still working very hard. He received the ball more (53) than any other of the front 6 players. He is the most involved in team play in the opposition half, he's still very important for us. He's not the most tenacious but Pochettino has got him working hard off the ball as well, he doesn't always get a foot in, like Lamela will, but unlike Chadli and Townsend he covers a lot of ground closing down.

His end product has suffered, but I don't think it's coincidence that it has coincided with the continual selection of Chadli and Townsend.

I'd love to know what Dembele has done wrong. I was liking him in at #10 with Eriksen on the left. IMO, it's been pretty average since he's been dropped.

Ive missed the last 2 games because mercifully NBC Sports has decided not to make the Spurs games available for delayed streaming.

Im not surprised Mason is wilting and Poch isnt doing Bentaleb any favors by partnering them every game. IMO Nabil has potential that we could still screw up.

Yes I was being a little facetious but my main point remains.
Drop Eriksen and where is the creative spark coming from.
We would be even more pedestrian.
Most of anything good passes through him at some point.
But he needs people to play with and he often has no one.

Might just be the formation no one has looked good, he looked much better playing in that LM modric role.

Vorm 7 - OK
Vlad 4 - Back to his normal crazy self
Fazio 4 - WTF
Dier 6 - Not his best game but stuck next to Fazio and Chirches is hard work
Rose 9 - Bloody brilliant
Bentaleb 6 - Ok
Mason 5 - looks shattered, give him a rest
Townsend 3 - doh!
Eriksen 2 - what has happened to him
Chadli 3 - does little

Kane 6 - nice touches, hard worker but totally unsupported

Soldado 4 - he was Soldado
Lamela - N/A
Yedlin N/A

The one's highlighted are the issue, our attacking three ain't linking in any way meaning we cannot press, create or support Kane and are vunerable to the counter because they also are shit at defending. Need Lamela on the right, Dembele in the centre and Eriksen pushed to the left. We did that previously and it worked if I recall.
